Hopefully they’ll do a freemium service at some point like Proton does

Scolding7300 ,

Then you would reset the count, so as ling as you don’t stop eating it you can eat an infinite amount

Scolding7300 ,

Will probably omly bolster their believers

Are there notes available to read?

Scolding7300 ,

I’d put the blame on the branding, full self drive shluld mean full self drive, not most-conditions self drive without explicitly providing the limitations. Even irplane autopilot systems, which solve a simpler problem, have explicit limitations stated

Scolding7300 ,

We need to do some reverse psychology to remedy this

Scolding7300 ,

+1 although trees can shade the ground around the building and cool the area that way too

Scolding7300 ,

It’ll probably take time though until it’s available

Here’s what the Kagi Universal Summarizer spat out (says it saved us 18min of reading):

TikTok has become hugely popular due to its effective use of machine learning algorithms to determine what content users want to see. However, some argue that the app is designed to be addictive by optimizing for short-form, easily digestible videos that require little mental effort. Regular use of TikTok may contribute to declining attention spans and “digital dementia” over time. Additionally, China sees Western social media as a way to accelerate the decline of liberal democracies by promoting individualism, distraction, and decay of societal values. While concerns over TikTok’s addictive nature and China’s influence are valid, banning the app would not address the underlying issues and parental guidance remains important.

Or in key moments mode:

  • TikTok’s recommendation algorithm (the For You page) is very effective at figuring out what content will addict individual users and keeping them engaged with short-form, attention-grabbing videos.
  • Heavy TikTok usage may lead to “digital dementia” symptoms like loss of attention span, memory, and impulse control due to the passive, low-effort nature of consuming content on the app.
  • Chinese authorities like Wang Huning believe Western liberalism and capitalism inevitably lead to spiritual decay, nihilism, and civilizational collapse if left unchecked.
  • The Chinese government sees influencing Western youth culture through apps like TikTok as a potential way to accelerate this process of decline in the West.
  • Some theorists like Nick Land see Western capitalism itself as a kind of runaway “paperclip maximizer” that must be accelerated to transform the system rather than opposed directly.
  • Long-term overuse of addictive apps like TikTok that provide instant gratification could lower average IQ and harm a society’s economic and technological competitiveness.
  • Regulating or banning TikTok may not solve the problem, as other short-form video apps will likely replace it to meet consumer demand for low-effort entertainment.
  • The solution involves raising public awareness of digital addiction risks and changing social norms to reduce heavy app and social media usage, especially for children.
  • Parental controls and moderation are also important short-term measures, but long-term the issue requires democratic solutions rather than authoritarian control.
  • The potential long-term societal impacts of platforms like TikTok make addressing addiction risks a timely issue rather than something to wait for more evidence on.

What’s with the downvotes?

Sounds exactly what pimax crystal offers

Don’t hate the player, the owner is the one to blame

How much flour do you use to make it not stick to the board? Is it a special type of wood?

Scolding7300 ,

I do 20-30 searches a day at work, so I definitely need to upgrade (annually it’s around 100$ so not bad at all).

Their Universal Summarizer is awesome too

Scolding7300 ,

I thought the bang is only for the highest tier

Scolding7300 ,

Oh yeah, nice!

Scolding7300 ,

I think they’re thinking of TOTP noy being the standard, where you’d just pull out your totp app and paste it without waiting

Scolding7300 ,

+1

Also, I wish we’d have a kagi community for Lemmy

Scolding7300 ,

Likewise, something happened in the last 1-2m, couldn’t find answers. But sometimes Google did.

After finding myself searching multiple times for one thing at DDG, decided to just go with Kagi.com

Scolding7300 ,

I started a trial witg kagi after ddg stopped finding results (while Google did)

Scolding7300 ,

I didn’t know kagi is supported in Brave mobile. Been trying to set it up on Mull (Firefox) but gotta wait for v122 so I can install via a file

The finals game doesnt run on linux so i switched back to windows 11.

Linux is all good if you only play singleplayer games. My friends started playing the finals yesterday and it doesn’t run on linux because of EAC. Windows can run all my games without any proton switching and all the nvidia features like ray reconstruction and pathtracing with frame generation just works (alan wake 2 looks so...

Scolding7300 ,

My linux usually boots very fast while Windows takes its sweet time, but still within 5m from power on to everything is up and warmed up.

So not something that stops me from rebooting to play a particular game

It's never been a better time to switch to Firefox (www.androidpolice.com)

• Firefox offers better privacy and security than Chrome, with upcoming support for 200 new add-ons. • While Chrome dominates, Firefox gains ground with user-friendly browsing experience and open-source model. • Mozilla’s focus on user privacy and transparency challenges Google’s ad-centric approach, making Firefox a...

What were the main pain points?

Scolding7300 ,

Oh on Android I thought mostly for Desktop.

Thank you for sharing. I experience more issues with mobile equivalent apps than their desktop counterparts

Scolding7300 ,

I agree, although I forgot that feature ecists in Chromium based ones

Scolding7300 ,

Or have something similar to Cosmetics or better bandwidth (like tgram does)

Scolding7300 ,

I have high hopes that the donation % and amount of users will grow after the interoperability implementation

Scolding7300 ,

They should post a average price per user so we’ll know what’s the minimum to donate (probably 5$ which is the minimum in the app IIRC)

Scolding7300 ,

I think just like Proton provides free services for the greater good, Signal should do something similar. Even special emojis works well IMO. They give you a badge at least

Scolding7300 ,

40 million active users, 50 million for 5 years. So I guess 1.25$ if everyone donates, or 5$ if just 25% do. I’ve done my part then

Scolding7300 ,

I’ll donate twice a year then 😅

Scolding7300 ,

I never got their messages

That might be just it, the perfect excuse to help ppl move (double edged though, can be used against you too). Thanks for sharing this tip!

Scolding7300 ,

Anyone can publish there

Scolding7300 ,

That’s a decision of the app maker. I think they shouldn’t, it’ll help people become aware of and use f-droid instead of Google’s products IMO

Scolding7300 ,

Never thought about that, that’s a good question

Scolding7300 ,

There’s also Grayjay now, that includes plugins fkr other platforms too

Scolding7300 , (edited )

They’re also pretty much exclusively sell SUVs or heavier cars, these are intentionally pricier

Scolding7300 ,

Though none of these platforms have tried to make money yet

Isn’t this one of the big factors why they are so shitty (excluding donations/non profit)?

Will other platforms accept these companies exploitation or want to have anything with them? I would guess they will rot/enshitify along with them if so

Scolding7300 ,

What does Meta even make per user? This seems like pure greed/satisfying the shareholders
