The colours have only partial relevance to whether it’s more or less ethical in the context of piracy. The colours signify more what is better for that category specifically. Having no DRM is better than not, supporting a creator is better than not, having it availble to buy or rent is better than having it discontinued, as a few examples.

Green = Good for that category, Red = Bad, Yellow = Mixed, Grey = Not good nor bad.

It’s a good game since release that you can tell has had a lot of love put into many elements. If Industries and mass transit were your favourite DLCs then those are integrated decently in the C:S2 basegame.

Performance was downright awful at release but has gotten to a reasonable level.

There are a lot of elements that are still far from refined. Some parts still feel shallow and lacking depth. Some of the depth is there but just hidden from us giving us little clue of how it functions, and some unexplained bugs coming from that. I would like way more information on how the land value, rent and demand are determined, who is ordering what commodity and how it’s getting there.

Well Blizzard isn’t going to see my money any time soon then. It’s unfortunate because I love Starcraft but they don’t want me to purchase any of their stuff because apparently “purchase” means nothing to them except to suck money out of apathetic drones.

Also the SC2 Arcade mode recently had an exploit that leaks IP addresses due to poorly filtered text rendering.

What I love about both Toronto and Montreal’s downtowns is that you can experience it from above ground outside (like what you see in the photo) and from the inside (the PATH in Toronto and la RÉSO/Ville Souterraine in Montreal).

Change the webui font to Comic Sans except set the letter h as Times New Roman.

Not sure why people are surprised about AI images. You and this server have been using them for a while now. And many of your tools (e.g. Overseer) imo are great uses of AI.

Well, a quick reminder that Lemmy.world is not all of Lemmy. Nintendo, the RIAA, the MPA(A), and other lawsuit-blasting organizations would have to tackle every single Lemmy instance.

Sure, one threatening letter is all that’s needed to scare most server operators, but since there are a large variety of hosts located in jurisdictions around the world, it’s not as simple as taking out the big player like it might be for Reddit.

Employees at Respawn started to be notified of layoffs at the end of last week, with the Apex Legends team in particular being affected. The layoffs are part of the 670 job cuts EA announced in February by boss Andrew Wilson.

This reads like a shitpost. The math is eh, okay, but the explanations are totally wrong. I won’t even try to figure out what “runs off watts” means.

Enough of any electricity source, using various converters can get any appliance working “technically speaking”, but in the end the amount of energy available at the source and the rate of consumption at the end and any intermediates. So “technically” an AA battery can power an industrial electric press, but only for a fraction of a microsecond, using a lot of charge storing infrastructure and with a lot of changes to get the tiny bit of DC into the machine requires to operate, likely 3 phase AC power.

A proper explanation would say a lead-acid car battery provides power at around 12V and electric camping fridges nominally operate around 12V so you can connect them directly and operate it (so you can sorta say they both run off DC volts?). If not you would need a buck or boost converter. The available energy of the battery (Watt-hours is a useful unit here) and the consumption rate (in Watts) of the fridge determine how long you can use it on the battery.
