Missouri Outlawed Abortion, and Now It’s Funding an Anti-Abortion Group That Works in Other States (www.propublica.org)

Since abortion became illegal in Missouri two years ago, after the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade, Coalition Life has fine-tuned its strategy. Because there are no abortion clinics in Missouri, Coalition Life operates largely outside clinics in other states where the procedure is still legal. The group’s website says it...

Abortion is on the Ballot for Missouri. I’m going to be voting for it and I hope it passes this year.

Video of Eric Schmidt blaming remote work for Google’s woes mysteriously vanishes (techcrunch.com)

Former Google CEO Eric Schmidt, who has since moved on to greener and perhaps more dangerous pastures, told an audience of Stanford students recently that “Google decided that work-life balance and going home early and working from home was more important than winning.” Evidently this hot take was not for wider consumption,...

DVDs are dying right as streaming has made them appealing again (arstechnica.com)

It’s sensible for businesses to shift from physical media sales. Per CNBC’s calculations, DVD sales fell over 86 percent between 2008 and 2019. Research from the Motion Picture Association in 2021 found that physical media represented 8 percent of the home/mobile entertainment market in the US, falling behind digital (80...

Americans are choking on surging fast-food prices. "I can't justify the expense," one customer says (www.cbsnews.com)

After announcing increased prices, Spotify to Pay Songwriters About $150 Million Less Next Year (www.billboard.com)

When Bloomberg reported that Spotify would be upping the cost of its premium subscription from $9.99 to $10.99, and including 15 hours of audiobooks per month in the U.S., the change sounded like a win for songwriters and publishers. Higher subscription prices typically equate to a bump in U.S. mechanical royalties — but not...

The problem with what you are saying is making voting sound like it matters less than it does. Voting is all the majority of people can do. Most people have jobs and families to take care of and can’t be political activists. However, they can just take one day out of their year to vote.

Nuclear waste is better overall for the environment than coal ash ponds. I live near a coal power plant with those ponds. Not the prettiest sight to see and probably poisoning my local water table. Also, coal produces more nuclear radiation than nuclear power plants do.
