I’ve got two, one, is we love katamari, which I’m currently playing the rerelease of on steam. The Japanese culture, the wonderfully wacky story and gameplay, the weird but enrapturing soundtrack all coalesced into something new and amazing for me that to this day 20 years later I’m still glued to the screen for....

I’m not understanding your comment. That’s probably my fault. My comment was intended as a flippant/sarcastic way of saying, “I need more info before I fully believe that Hamas has a ‘base’ under that particular hospital”.

I would have trouble finding new music without torrent sites. The trackers I use have a web of related artists at the bottom of the artist page.

The users add to the community through comments, uploads, suggestions, organizing, et cetera.

Using a tracker has helped me discover music that ain’t even on Spotify. It’s the tits!

I just buy the music I want from bandcamp or the band. I can organize and rip whatever and keep it backed up incredibly simply.

Then I put it on whatever device I want to use. Do you remember album/tape/CD collections. It’s like that but digital. The tech gives us all so much more control, it seems a shame to stream from a source like Spotify. Just stream your stuff to yourself, or put it on a tiny piece of silicon.

You can use Spotify like the radio I guess. A really creepy, ultra-payola-driven radio. Why not own some digital media, though? Like pay some artists directly and listen to their content digitally.

Who the fuck really needs Spotify to distribute their content? Maybe shitbags that NEED a corporate entertainment structure to survive. Fuck em.

Spotify isn’t genius. They just created a cultural choke point and they are gonna milk it like a starving baby cow. Having the investment and cooperation of the big labels allows and maintains this lucrative exploitation of creative labor.

Edit: There’s an episode of the Nerdist when some jerk from Linking park was on. He talked about getting royally fucked by the label they were on. That terrible band could not have been drilled into the culture without major label support and payola. They deserve nothing because they are a sacchrine confection of the corporate music industry. They are a golem of mass-market, general-purpose angst. They only positive thing from linking park was the singers suicide.

I was able to get The Dig to work on ScummVM. The N3ds is the way to go for old school DOS games.

Just to clarify, I meant DOS games that run in ScummVM.

I had some trouble with previous versions of ScummVM3ds but the current version has been great. I haven’t had any problems with suspending or closing the console.

I’ve been able to run the King’s Quest games 1-7, Monkey Island 1-3, Indiana Jones FoA, Quest for Glory 1-4, and other point-and-click games. Just check the compatibility list on the ScummVM site.

You can’t run the Monkey Island 1&2 Special editions on the 3ds. You CAN find a mod that adds the voice feature to the classic game. That will run on ScummVM.

The “talkie” versions of Monkey Island 1 & 2 work great on the N3ds. I was incredibly stoked about how well ScummVM worked on the console.

Thanks, good read. It bums me out that people are still fouled by Sam Altmann’s shtick. OpenAI and Worldcoin are just grifts. At least OpenAI DOES some things, but it’s definitely not open. Worldcoin seems like data-gathering with a hint of crypto-grift.

Thanks for posting this. It’s a good read. I’m stoked that Dolphin will continue to be developed with or without Steam.

I wonder if this will affect the ability to use Dolphin on a SteamDeck. I’m sure people will figure out Dolphin on the Deck, or already have.
