I’m playing Fallout 4 and my favorite weapon uses .308 bullets, I run out all the time and then have to use other weapons that just don’t feel as good. I spend way too much time going to shops to buy all they have and collecting resources and crafting them just to have less than enough.

It seems the real world has a similar problem.

Kinda re-discovered Mazzy Star last year, extremely good! Lots of melancholic nostalgia.
I remember my mom listening to it a lot when I was a kid in the mids 90s, it was a hard time for her as she had just separated with my dad. Being a single mom, with me at around 5 years of age and my little sister at 3 years old she had found several female musicians with powerful music that helped her get through life at that point. These aren’t specifically musically related to Mazzy Star but they are closely related in my heart, and all highly recommend, some of my earliest memories:

The Sugarcubes - Birthday(I turn to a pile of mush when I listen to this, in a good way of course)

Angelique Kidjo - Agolo(the whole album rhis is from, Ayé, is so damn good)

The Cranberries - Zombie(No need to say anything here other than “holy shit” at the view count)

I don’t think there will ever be a place like the old web again. Lemmy is better than reddit, but lots of the crap from there is just as common here, stuff that really wasn’t as common before. I’m absolutely certain a disturbing amount of people say dumb shit, make spelling mistakes and stuff like that simply to get “interraction”.

What the fuck… Not only is this animal cruelty but it also shows the incredibly fucked up view that person has on what “family” means.

Yes, very much not all Americans are “bad” and it’s dumb to generalise like that, but man are they good at proving stereotypes and being completely ignorant of it. I’m an adult on long-term sick leave so I have zero energy and money, but all the time. It’s generally not great, but at least I’m able to play all the games I want, watch all the movies and series of interest, discover music and learn about a ton of things.

Poop-man here in Gothenburg, Sweden.

A dude that has been banned from all music festivals in Sweden and many others in neighbouring countries because he covers himself with shit and bathes in urinals. He has also smeared shit all over the walls in multiple places, including one of the ferries here. I worked at an underground club for a few years around 2005 and he “painted” the walls of one of our toilets one time. He never drinks or does drugs apparently, he’s just fucked up. Been well-known since the 90s…

I don’t need it to be night to realise that. I have -13 on both eyes, near-sightedness (not sure about the correct terminology in English). I see clearly for about one centimetre right by the tip of my nose, everything closer or further than that is a blurry and fuzzy mess. To use my phone without glasses I have to press it against my nose and can only see about half of the screen width clearly.

I am that uncle. Both my close and extended family are really nice, like better than any other I’ve ever met, but I just can’t handle all the social stuff. Most of them understand and we all like each other, but I still feel bad about it and it kinda sucks being the one that’s mostly outside of the “bubble”.

I’m a Swede too and don’t get anxious at all. It’s very much not a common thing here, or anywhere in the world. It’s more common in some places (like the US) but that doesn’t make it common enough to be a thing to constantly worry about. Let’s take the event in this thread as an example, there have been thousands of days at that specific place where nothing happened, and the vast majority of people there weren’t even close enough to be in harm’s way. And then we have the millions of places like this all over the world where nothing happened today. The chance of you being at the specific place and time, close enough to be in harm’s way is extremely low. I’m in no way saying stuff like this isn’t a problem or should be ignored, just that it’s completely irrational to have any fear about it no matter where you live.
