OK so if you feel Lemmy has been trending towards hostility in the past weeks ppease here me out, interact in the comments but keep it civil....
Not counting games that were unfun because of bugs, what’s the most unfun video game that you’ve played and what made it unfun?
Most of the video games I’ve played were pretty good. The only one I can think of that I didn’t like was MySims Kingdom for the Nintendo DS. Dropped that pretty quickly. It was a long while ago, but I’ll guess it was because there were too many fetch quests and annoying controls.

My FromSoftware journey thus far (i.imgur.com)
This will be quite long, so for those who don’t feel like reading it all, the tl;dr is: played Dark Souls III, then Elden Ring, then Sekiro, then Dark Souls 1, then replayed Dark Souls III....
New antibiotic from microbial 'dark matter' could be powerful weapon against superbugs (www.sciencedaily.com)
A new powerful antibiotic, isolated from bacteria that could not be studied before, seems capable to combat harmful bacteria and even multi-resistant ‘superbugs’. Named Clovibactin, the antibiotic appears to kill bacteria in an unusual way, making it more difficult for bacteria to develop any resistance against it....

Wireless Shower Head
If you were to make a wireless shower head, would it have hydrogen molecules and suck in the oxygen from the air to create water? Would you have to recharge it with hydrogen?

For context: One of the rules in that community is that you aren’t allowed to post anything related to suicide. In a mental health community.
After migrating from Reddit, it’s jarring that comment sections aren’t cluttered with hashtag-style comments that are just links to subreddits like /HoLuP/
I love that comment sections here are like, y’know, discussions and stuff. Not just the same jokes and parroted phrases over and over and over.

What game mechanics do you love and hate?
I love hearing about unique takes on game mechanics. Someone recently convinced me that limited inventories are kind of abused currently and that unlimited inventory systems would give more player choices.

Basically the title. I would rather not get scammed… :) The idea is to move to GrapheneOs as my next step, but I don’t necessarily need the newest device....

The First Room-Temperature Ambient-Pressure Superconductor (arxiv.org)
A room-temperature superconductor would be the single biggest discovery since the transistor, so take this with a grain of salt until we get some independent reproductions. But, if true, this is world-changing.

What is your go-to Linux distro and why?

Anyone else starting to favor Flatpak over native packages?

Hello fellow lemmings! Fedora KDE user here, and quite happy about it, it didn’t break a single time and packages are up to date. The only thing that bother me is DNF’s speed… a single search may take up to 5 seconds, and if I’m dependency-hunting I may need several searches, summing up the delays. I’m asking if...

After only 3 short years my Google Pixel 4A is EOL.
