I don’t know why either, but in I heard the same thing: more women tend to care not about the environment than men. Anecdotally, a lot of environmental related stores > and groups I go to are a majority women attended or assumed at women.

Habahnow ,

Probably using a group chat or something. I can’t imagine he personally knows all 50 of these guys tbh. I hope not at least for the reasons you indicated.

There’s Nazi’s there, need to be dealt with

Steam stuck on logging in for anyone else?

Having a unique issue where steam is not logging in for me. Its stuck on the logging pop up and stays like that. Is anybody else having this issue? I’m on Ubuntu, it was just working about 10 hours ago. I made and reverted a change thinking that’s what caused it but that doesn’t seem to be the case....

Habahnow OP ,

It logs you out? that’s annoying. I’ve logged in with the above command. As Emil mentioned, you can log in in offline mode then switch to online mode.

How the fuck do you meet new people?

I just got out of a 10+ year relationship a couple months ago, rather suddenly and not of my own volition. I do not fault my former partner, she did what she felt she had to do to be happy. Unfortunately, turns out, I didn’t really have any friends of my own, I was just a hanger-on to her group. I have done a bad job of...

Social events like bars and raves are an option. You’ll find people who just want to get shit faced, but also social people. Volunteer work has a lot of people you can interact with and eventually become friends with. Game places are another option as mentioned. Video games as well. If you have a dog, parks are a way to start conversations and meet people.

Habahnow ,

Drive less would best the recommendation. Though I feel this doesn’t directly help yourself so much as everyone.

The Title is just the website. No idea what this is supposed to be.

What should I do if my older brother abuses me?

So it all started in 2020 when I moved to other house because he insulted and beat me up, now he comes to that new house which isn’t far away and keeps doing the same thing, he beat me up today because I didn’t want to give him my phone. When I tell it to my mother she says we’re both bad and she will sell the house,...

Habahnow ,

Need more details, but it does seem bad.

  • What do you mean by beat you up?
  • how old are you both?
  • what “other house” did you move to and who lives in that house?
  • who owns the house?
  • Why does he saying he’s doing this?
  • What country and state are you in?

without all these details, you probably shouldn’t take any advice here as there’s a lot of incomplete information.

This is a pretty short article that links to: insurify.com/car-insurance/report/Which has a full report

Habahnow ,

Personal transportation is extremely inefficient. You need to pay a bunch of money for something, in order to get around, and it is always space inefficient, bad for the environment and encouraged parking lot creation over housing.

Habahnow ,

You’re missing price. Compare your trip to Public transit costs, and include infrastructure costs. You had to pay for your vehicle, your car insurance (which in the US there are irresponsibly low legal minimums), registration, gas, and also taxes for the infrastructure, to get yourself somewhere which takes up more room than needed (usually several times more room than a combination lf walking and public transit). Public transit only requires fare pricing, along with infrastructure, which is significantly cheaper per person due to more efficient use of space.

Compare many European metro cities to the US, and you’ll notice their public transit is more convenient (in the characteristics you have pointed out) because we decided to shut ourselves in the foot as a country and forced everyone to have to get a car payment, while making public transit bad.

Of course, public transit isn’t convenient for every area, such as rural towns in which personal vehicles are a better solution, but we have many cities where there should be significantly better public transit.

Habahnow ,

I imagine, from what’s indicated on the market, that they don’t which is why TSMC is investing in schools of the area to get students trained to work with them.

Habahnow ,

Well, my understanding is it’s also university, regardless, it seems like a plan of build it and people will come. a bit problematic when a competitor can offer similar pay with less abuse.

Habahnow ,

Pretty cool study. Shame its so small of a sample size, but it shows some very positive signs.

Habahnow ,

I’ve seen some that are in plastic containers that look sort of like a square jar. There’s a lot in there, and only that one outer packaging. Yamamoto Yama is the brand. If you go in person, careful becuase they have some that are not the squares but the small strips that are more of a topping than a snack.

Habahnow ,

Maybe you need more? But for real, I don’t drink a bunch, but I still give props to people that drink only a little.

Habahnow ,

Take notes for things and making alarms. I’m pretty forgetful so this has helped me out a lot.

Habahnow ,

Congrats man!

Habahnow ,

pretty funny sketch you linked, and also the other 2.

Habahnow ,

… so its treason then? Worst American ever… /s

Habahnow ,

The reason Chinese EVs are so cheap is because China subsidizes them immensely. They’re basically selling below cost, and expecting private US companies to compete with that impossible price. As long as we allow competitors from other countries in, as well as pushing for electric vehicle usage, the prices will drop. Man companies won’t be able to sell gas cars after 2035 in many large states and countries. People would rather buy an older used gas car than a very expensive electric I bet.

Habahnow ,

If the food is amazing, then people will come back. The point is to make the location slightly uncomfortable enough that people want to leave sooner, not that they hate the place. The idea is you need to balance cost of food, and customer turn around time. If you make it very expensive, people won’t feel comfortable taking the food to go, even if it is an amazing item. On the flip side, a cheap menu that is very comfortable will be overly cost prohibitive.

Habahnow ,

Great post. Where have I seen this before?

Habahnow ,

This post right here officer, look at this man saying such illegal words on the internet!

Habahnow ,

Yeah this seems like BS and a waste of funds. We don’t have enough housing for them so they’re just going to move around somewhere else.

Habahnow ,

I feel like Russians posting that this is obviously false, implies to me this is actually correct.

Habahnow ,

bro, getting tickled for an hour is very uncomfortable. Maybe If I get shot in the chest, my options next time will be I live a long life without a shot to the chest?

Habahnow ,

Dems didn’t control both the house and the senate soo… Thats why Dems haven’t been able to pass as many things as they would like.

Habahnow ,

I know people that would easily get sun burnt on their nose. I suppose certain parts of your body would be more sensitive to the sun but I’m not certain what causes that. hoping someone with more knowledge and chip in.

I apply sunscreen to all parts of my body if I’m going out to the sun for long periods of time. I haven’t noticed certain parts of my body being more sensitive than others either.

slight tangent: Dermatologists all recommend against tanning and especially recommend wearing sunscreen if you’re going to be at a higher than 3/4 UV indexed sunlight for prolonged periods of time. It damages skin and encourages skin cancer.

Habahnow ,

You do have a point that turn out Is important, but a potential replacement candidate isn’t guaranteed to increase turn out, they could be worse. And they would only have 4 months to try to fix things, which isn’t a lot of time.

Habahnow ,

I tried to look for something like this happening before and don’t see anything. Maybe it’s my bad searching skills, but this is definitely not great for Trump’s plans. Not certain how convincing it is politically though.

Habahnow , (edited )

Lol what are you talking about? any links or ways to find this?

EDIT: found it: sh.itjust.works/comment/12339443

Habahnow ,

NVM found it. Damn doc is getting lamer the more you learn about him. ggrecon.com/…/dr-disrespect-calls-out-bethesda-ov…Basically, Starfield mentions your pronoun after character creation and mentions that you can change your pronoun if you like. Doc then looks up someone from Starfield or something looking for their pronouns in the company website. He then says “Its all starting to make sense” in such a way that shows his disapproval of that option being in the game.

Its not some crazy event, but it just adds another thing to a pile of things that show he’s kind of a crappy person. Starfield had mentioned they didn’t want to partner with him due to the previous twitch controversy, I feel his continued actions (getting pissy over this option, that he could completely ignore) really proves Starfield’s decision was a good one.

Habahnow ,

Lol I looked that one up. That was most definitely a meltdown as well LOL.

Habahnow ,

This is a gift article so no need for archive.

Habahnow ,

I’m not the most experienced with Ubuntu, but the way that comes to mind is setting up shortcuts manually to try to match MacOS. It would be a bit tedious honestly. I’m hoping somebody comes along and knows of a library that already does that.

Habahnow , (edited )

Holy shit that’s crazy. 45 15 police officers were killed too. I bring up this number in particular because usually, attacks like this, have people heavily armed against unarmed people. They usually get dispatched pretty quickly when they encounter any sort of armed resistance (police, or people with guns), but to see that they still were able to kill 45 police is crazy.

Habahnow ,

Ah thanks for the correction. Regardless my point still stands that these people were heavily armed/trained which I think is very surprising.

Why do I puke more than once when I've been drunk?

So I’ve been drinking and it becomes like I drink water and I puke right away. So it’s like what’s the point of puking if I can’t get rid of all the toxicant in one go. I end up just puking whatever I put in. I assume puking is good but yeah I don’t get the point if it can’t be just a one time thing.

Habahnow ,

I feel like no one is addressing the fact that this shouldn’t be happening very frequently as your making it sound. Either you’re drinking too much, to the point of being alcoholic. That or something is wrong with your body.

Habahnow ,

Practically useless video. It only showed Ramsey being interviewed and asked about the crash, in which he shows his huge bruise in his ribs. No details of what happened

Habahnow ,

Been waiting for his next video. Whoa just found out this guy does videos about stuff other than dishwashers. that’s pretty cool, hope this dishwasher guy makes it big.

Habahnow ,

How did he teach you to make a quick 100 bucks?

Habahnow ,

The one about how the non-window/wall ones suck?

Habahnow ,

I’m hoping you’re right. What I could imagine is that he just wants to burn through the prisoners since if they don’t make it back, that’s less prison costs. So even if he has reserve troops available, he’d rather use prisoners first.

Study finds 1/4 of bosses hoped Return to Office would make staff quit (www.theregister.com)

HR software biz BambooHR surveyed more than 1,500 employees, a third of whom work in HR. The findings suggest the return to office movement has been a poorly-executed failure, but one particular figure stands out - a quarter of executives and a fifth of HR professionals hoped RTO mandates would result in staff leaving....

Habahnow ,

I’m sorry but this seems very illogical. You’re saying that, as a company thats fully remote, its easier to get the WHOLE COMPANY back into the office than it is to do the paperwork to remove a handful of bad employees, while risking losing some of your better employees??
