Been finding some good deals on 2.5 disks lately, but have never bought one before. Have a couple of 3.5 disks on the other hand in my Unraid server. Wondering how much it matters wether I get a 2.5 or not? What form factor do you prefer/usually go for?

Yeah I’ve got Debian on the server and on my laptop and I don’t know why I’d want anything more user experience focussed. It just works for me.

What are you using for head tracking? I produce Atmos content so maybe can help.

Apples implementation is better because it uses airpods for tracking movement. Other systems either playback binaurally pre-rendered or do some spatial post processing on a stereo mix to place it in a space. I’m afraid I don’t know the difference between the two spatial systems on your phone though.

I use 1password and was considering switching to bitwarden or derivative. Perhaps to selfhost. What’s beneficial about categorising logins? I wish 1password had a duplicate finder.

I just search everything, I’d like categories I guess but I never go into the list, just search everything. Duplicate items. When I moved from one version of 1P to the pay monthly it duplicated all of my entries so I had to manually remove them. Or a merge function or something.

Yeah, the only recco is to downgrade to an older 1P, then run the duplicate finder in that, which didn’t work, then upgrade again. After this thread I rechecked and it notes duplicates in the entry but there isn’t a ‘scan and merge all’ thing so I did it manually. I must have missed a bunch when I did it manually last time.

Second for this. Got one myself. 1080p, USB C, upgradable ram, I replaced the internal and external batteries no problem. I stuck a second SSD inside last weekend and replaced the thermal paste in about 20 mins. If you like tinkering and being able to repair and maintain yourself it’s really great.

Got win 11 on one SSD and Debian on the second and all running well.

Yeah, was easy peasy. Bought the sad off eBay. Be careful which SSD you pick up only specific ones fit, I think there’s a thread on Lemmy somewhere. I used a western digital sn520 2242 m.2. A 256 one. I think 512 exist but harder to source.

Radarr/Plex Files Randomly Gone

I just went to watch a movie and my server said it wasn’t there, so I went and check the PC folders and all of my movies are gone. Not in any of the recycling bins, not anywhere, just gone. What would have caused this? How do I stop it from happening again? It’s been working fine for months then this just happened.
