This is pretty misleading. There was a mix of people good and bad, just like there is now. Plenty of racist and hateful millennials/zoomers as well that lean conservative. Each subsequent generation just likes to pat themselves on the backs and claim they’re better and more enlightened.

DarkWasp ,
@DarkWasp@lemmy.world avatar

There’s men in the 60s that are that way and men who aren’t. I’ve met plenty of misogynistic zoomers too but don’t classify the entire generation that way.

From my understanding it was renewed for 20 episodes split it into two parts so there will still be 10 coming at some point (much like Disnenchantment did).

This honestly sounds like what I’ve been experiencing for months and my Dr can’t figure it out, the leading guess right now is long covid. I noticed on the Wikipedia page it even mentions long covid, are they similar? Does your lymph node randomly swell up?

Pits were literally bred to be aggressive and are innately so. No one questions the purpose of a Labrador retriever or a greyhound. People aren’t abusing pit bulls to turn them mean, not by a long shot. They’ll easily turn on loving owners for no reason at all.

DarkWasp ,
@DarkWasp@lemmy.world avatar

I highly doubt they’ll do that as they’ve had USB-C on their iPads for a few years now already and haven’t. I’m using Anker/other cables I got for 1/3 the price of Apple’s and they work just fine at proper speeds.

That doesn’t mean making decisions that can ultimately hurt the business or their partners though. You can be greedy while not alienating the developers who drive the company’s profits. Decisions like these could make them lose millions or even go out of business.

I don’t know what people are expecting anymore, phones are a mature market. Short of something like foldables (which don’t seem to be catching on) they’re going to be iterative updates. Look at TVs and computers. Years of big advancements and then they’re iterative.

Also the NY Post is an absolutely terrible publication to link to.

This is a take I would expect to see on Reddit, it’s simply not true. None of those devices run iOS either which is what a lot of people prefer. It’s okay to dislike something, you don’t need to insult the people that do.

DarkWasp ,
@DarkWasp@lemmy.world avatar

There’s nothing ignorant about people who prefer iOS over Android. Yes, you’re being insulting in a chronically online way.

DarkWasp ,
@DarkWasp@lemmy.world avatar

Just try and ignore anything this antagonistic fool/troll says and your life will be better off.

DarkWasp ,

It’s the incessant want and need for more, more more. If they made $2 billion in profit last year it needs to be $3 billion this year, it can’t just be a continued $2 billion (which is still an amazing amount of profit). It’s just a never ending scheme of incurable human greed.

DarkWasp ,
@DarkWasp@lemmy.world avatar

Some people can’t do this or had an emergency and needed to use their credit card. Lower interest rates are manageable.

DarkWasp ,
@DarkWasp@lemmy.world avatar

You know that’s a real word that applies to things right? If someone is saying the earth is actually flat and making up things to prove it, that’s misinformation.

DarkWasp ,
@DarkWasp@lemmy.world avatar

What this response signals to me is that if you’re critical or point out the negatives of what Rogan does, your opinion doesn’t matter. I’ve seen plenty of accurate responses here.

He told people repeatedly to take ivermectin, was critical of masks, downplayed the severity and impact of Covid and has guests like Alex Jones, Jordan Peterson and Matt Walsh.

DarkWasp ,

Which is weird. You can not like him and enjoy the show, especially since his lines were written for him and he was a small part of it. You could enjoy Fear Factor too, it’s not anything like how he is now.

@DarkWasp@lemmy.world avatar

No one is shutting down anything, they’re using their speech to classify things as misinformation. You’re allowed to note things are lies or untrue just as much as the people spewing it. There’s a reason regulations and rules exist in the first place, you can’t just lie about ingredients in food for example to protect from harm.

Regardless, misinformation is a real word that applies to things. If you tell someone that says they heard “if I drink bleach it’ll cure my cancer” that is not true and is false information (which can cause harm), there’s nothing wrong with that.

DarkWasp ,
@DarkWasp@lemmy.world avatar

Completely agree. Don’t use them for numerous reasons now, one (of many) being the amount of cheap junk cluttering up the search results with fake reviews.

He should be charged with treason or something similar for doing this during wartime to a US ally. Enough of this narcissistic POS.

I’m not sure why this would ever come up in a job interview, it’s not your employer’s business.

DarkWasp ,
@DarkWasp@lemmy.world avatar

Yes but I’d classify it as a different category more akin to old school forums. It’s less a place to post photos of yourself and more one to discuss and read about stuff you enjoy (or memes). I just want a place personally to discuss movies, video games, technology etc

DarkWasp ,
@DarkWasp@lemmy.world avatar

The entire concept of just sharing images of your kids online is weird to me to me begin with. Just make a photo album like everyone else did prior to social media.

This person is upset the same 8 people are liking their photos, give up on the need for attention and just live your life.

Please stop with the fearmongering, if you are a US lemmy host follow preserve and report guidelines, stay vigilant, follow ongoing discussions of fixes and solutions and you should be fine. (www.eff.org)

I am seeing a lot of fearmongering and misinformation regarding recent events (CSAM being posted in now closed large lemmy.world communities). I say this as someone who brought attention to this with other admins as I noticed things were federating out....

I have to regularly clear the cache on my devices for Memmy as it will continue growing (was beyond 4GB when I noticed one time eating my phones space). I’m assuming it’s saving images on device too.

I can see the nuance in an argument that an online community, unmoderated, could be using an algorithm to group these violent people together and amplifying their views. The same can’t really be said for most other platforms. Writing threats of violence should still be taken seriously over the internet, especially if it was later acted upon. I don’t disagree with you that there’s a lot of bat shit crazy out there though.

DarkWasp ,

Too bad no one took it seriously at the time and repeatedly ignored her. It’s so unfortunate only now once its getting media coverage that they’re doing anything.
