To me, that’s even worse. Ligatures that have 0 separation where it’s expected short circuit my reading comprehension.

So what I see there is that badly designed fonts require ligatures to correct interactions.

Like, I get that there are some neat ones, e.g. I have them turned on when writing code for symbols, but they seem wholly unnecessary and distracting in alphabetical characters.

Apparently the issue is cheaters using the self-checkouts according to the employee I talked to.

So now we all have to jump through more hoops instead of having another cashier or two. Ironically, there were extra staff at the door enforcing the scanning.

The scanning is also supposed to bring up your picture for identification.

They don’t have a picture for me on file and gave me crap when I scanned. I just showed them my license and went on my way. I don’t need my face linked to my name all over the internet when they get hacked next year.

It’s certainly a rarity (and a crying shame!). The closest things we see regularly are chicken nuggets and battered/breaded fried fish, but I’ve never seen those premade at a butcher shop either, just the freezer section from the giant companies at the grocery store.

But this thread did make me recall shorelunch.com which is a DIY crumb. Shake-n-bake is the pervasive product.

I had a similar issue a couple years ago and it turned out the power supply just couldn’t handle load well anymore.
