Oh no. If that’s true, I will not buy from there again.

Apparently I don’t own minecraft anymore.

Maybe it’s the proportions, but that thing does not look compact to me.

Probably none, but one can dislike some more than others.

Say you you’re maintaining a FOSS app on your own time. How interested would you be to pay Apple $100 annually for the privilege of giving their users free stuff?

Material tends to be ugly as balls but if usability improves, that’s great.

Is it worth buying the Mac keyboard for a dedicated Linux PC instead of the windows one?

What is your personal preference based on experience? I Assume because Mac is Unix and Linux is Unix based, it would be more suited, but I have no personal experience with the layout. I am willing to try something new if i hear enough merits for it, and I also find the windows layout somewhat inadequate(The grass is greener on...

My previous mechanical keyboard lasted about a decade. Or it still works, but I bought a new one because the keycaps had worn so much.

Bezier ,
@Bezier@suppo.fi avatar

Replaceable sure, but probably not worth it. My new one is a bit nicer, so for that I might do it when the time comes. I still keep the old one around for random occasions I need a keyboard.

The other results had iFunny and 9GAG watermarks on them and/or were even more deepfried with compression.

But somehow, the JPEG artifacts give this one a nice cozy feel. Seeing this ancient meme again was like meeting an old friend.

I think both of those are still used extensively.

If it’s all of these links and just on Memmy, it’s probably an issue with the app. I use Voyager and they work fine. You could ask about that at !memmy or file an issue at their GitHub if someone hasn’t already.

I don’t think that matters at this point. Flatpak is widespread and Canonical can’t possibly expect the linux crowd to choose the proprietary alternative. I could see snap being the one, had they just handled it differently.

I don’t quite understand what you’re going for.

How does this protect us from data brokers?

Can’t you already pull the data of an entire instance via the api?

If you don’t trust your instance admins, have you considered setting up your own?

Bezier ,
@Bezier@suppo.fi avatar

So you fear that instance admins would start closing their apis. It would’ve been real helpful if that was on the on the original post.

The api is accessible and I don’t see that changing because it is, y’know, required for federation. If you want backups, you can start scraping or host a private instance that subscribes to everything you want to save.

Releasing dumps the way you described would be a massive burden on admins, or even completely infeasible.

Bezier ,
@Bezier@suppo.fi avatar

Well, let’s just say that I doubt you’ll be able to sell this idea to instance admins.

However, you can become the change you wish to see yourself. You can start scraping today and create your own dumps that way; the apis are yet to be closed.

Either probably, but luckily my title was not sarcasm. I indeed did not need to log in this badly and gave up when I realized it’s gonna be ten of these.

I guess it’s about what one’s used to. I’d be pretty annoyed if it started overwriting my documents when I when I do not explicitly tell it to do that.

I copy something from the document, maybe hit cut instead of copy. Now it’s gone from the original.

Overwrinting as saving the (unwanted) changes over the file.

I know the workflow on these collaborative online tools is like that. I also don’t see a reason why an offline tool can’t be like that, but I think turning it on by default would cause more bad surprises for people who don’t expect it to do things unannounced and without asking.

I guess this is something the program could ask on initial startup and make the editor UI very clear on what the state is.

I started to become somewhat skeptical after thinking about it for a second. Well, too bad it was fake. Or good, actually.

Bezier ,
@Bezier@suppo.fi avatar

So did I, it was just fine. Though I kept it updated and replaced the battery once.
