I didn’t really drop Reddit, I just don’t have the easy phone access I used to have so I visit it a lot less now and I don’t like their app. I can use Lemmy right here on my phone and found an app that’s very similar to BaconReader so I’m good for now.

I don’t expect search numbers going down any time soon. I don’t post there as much anymore but I always type “reddit” in search engines whenever I’m looking for answers. Seems like it’s the only way to get search results that aren’t bloated blog posts and articles.

I don’t mind the one hour commute, I did it for 3 years going to college and my first job and I think 3 day weekends are the perfect amount of time between work weeks. Then again, I love the freedom of WFH. I can’t choose.

Like you, I was just more productive in an environment that’s not my home. There were a few times when they allowed us back in the office and only 3 of us showed up. Big empty office with the feeling that I can work at my own pace yet couldn’t get too comfortable because it’s still a professional workspace, it was perfect.

Are straws an unnecessary (but convenient) invention?

People often talk about swapping out plastic straws for other materials to help the ocean/fish and the environment, but they also complain about paper straws falling apart easily. Other alternatives that are slightly more sturdy like straws made of straw don’t seem very common....

I like and hate their shorts page. I like the fast pace consumption of good content but half of it is rage bait, onlyfans bait, low effort content theft, and people acting obnoxious for attention. I wish I had more control over what shows in shorts because the don’t recommend button doesn’t seem to do anything.

I had a dream where it was videogame-like, can’t really confirm. It’s not like there was a HUD or anything like that but I remember shooting guns that could have easily been from Doom or Quake. I also died in the dream and “respawned” in the middle of an ocean at night.
