It's going to come as no surprise to any readers of EVERYTHING TO HIDE, that author K.V. Martins is a fan of historical crime fiction, in particular, the work of Dame Agatha Christie. It should also come as no surprise that she has a background in history and archaeology.
My Bollywood Dream is a love letter to Bollywood movies and to Mumbai. With beautiful illustrations, this picture book is a celebration of dance, music, cinema, Indian culture and dreams.
I've got a small number of paperback copies of FOURTH WORLD that I'm giving away in advance of the last book in the series coming out this fall. Billed as Atlantis on Mars with time travel (and chock-full of #asexual and otherwise #queer characters)! This would also be a great gift for a teen in your life or a donation to an LGBT teen center. I'm giving these away for free but I can only ship to US addresses. Let me know if you're interested! @lgbtqbookstodon#bookstodon#YAbooks
"Another man sat at the corner of the desk in a blue leather chair, a cold-eyed hatchet-faced man, as lean as a rake and as hard as the manager of a loan office. His neat well-kept face looked as if it had been shaved within the hour. He wore a well-pressed brown suit and there was a black pearl in his tie. He had the long nervous fingers of a man with a quick brain. He looked ready for a fight." #Bookstodon#AmReading#Books#RaymondChandler@bookstodon
When you were an unknown, first time published/self-published author, what did you find the most effective way to market your book? Any, few word, suggestions gratefully received :-)
I love summer! It was a perfect summer hammock evening, with good book and beer.
Of course, the dogs went and knocked over the table moments after I took this picture. Way to harsh my vibe, guys. 😡
Today's queer spec fic release: Kaje Harper's MM fantasy Magic Burning.

I haven’t been out with a guy in the last two years. Partly because I’m a gay elementary-school teacher in a fairly small, conservative town. Partly because I’m a sorcerer...
Part of the SF Masterworks Collection. Despite being nearly 60 years old the narrative around the manipulation of the truth feels incredibly prescient. Wondering whether David Whitaker had read it before he came up with #DoctorWho story The Enemy of the World. #Books#Bookstodon#SciFi#PhilipKDick
Enjoyed it in the main and there is some smart and witty story in there. Suffers reading it now from the fact the world it is satirising doesn’t really exist any more.
