The rule of nukes is that it is much more dangerous not to have them than to have them. This is an intelligent move on Poland’s part.

Only if those are your own nukes. Having foreign nukes, especially ones belonging to a rogue state like USA is the bad idea. Also guess why not having them is dangerous? Because US of fucking A is tend to bomb you to hell if you don’t have them and don’t fold to their demands.

    Seasoned_Greetings , (edited )

It’s ironic that you should bring up not having nukes being dangerous because of the US, given that the entire reason Russia is upset about this is because Poland wants to use US nukes as a deterrent to the very real threat of Russian invasion.

    DudeImMacGyver ,

Bet they wouldn’t even be thinking about it if not for Putin’s invasion.

    Seasoned_Greetings ,

Careful now, here on this communist instance you could catch a ban for speaking openly about Russian aggression

    alcoholicorn ,

Nukes in Poland would be very bad to apocalyptic in the event of a war, but also it’s just passively dangerous; between 1950 and 1980, the US military reported 32 accidents involving nuclear bombs, including 8 whose cores were not recovered. After which they stopped reporting them. The USSR/Russia’s record is not significantly better.

That count does not include logistics mishaps, such as in 2007 when 6 nuclear bombs were mistakenly flown across the country and left attached to an unattended aircraft for 36 hours, at which point somebody asked why they had nuclear bombs just hanging off that plane without any guards or anything. No, this was not discovered because someone noticed their nukes were missing for a day and a half, this was discovered when someone stumbled across them.

Nuclear weapons are dangerous. More at 11.

So Russia can put nuclear weapons by the Polish boarder but, if Poland has nucs that’s when things start to get dangerous lol

    gnuhaut ,

Does Russia aim those nukes at Poland? They will if there are nukes there.

    Skua ,

Poland is one of the larger NATO militaries and would probably be leading the early parts of a NATO-Russia war. Poland will absolutely be targeted either way in the event of a nuclear war

    bigschnitz ,

Poland is one of the largest militaries in NATO and have a special hatred of Russia. I imagine alongside the UK and France, Russia has nukes aimed at Poland already.

They are plenty threatening already, though obviously adding nukes, even if American controlled, exacerbates things.

    wildncrazyguy ,

Instead, they should just throw their superior horses at invading Russian tanks again, right?
