After 3 years in the making I’m excited to announce the launch of Games on Whales, an innovative open-source project that revolutionizes virtual desktops and gaming. Our mission is to enable multiple users to stream different content from a single machine, with full HW acceleration and low latency....
I have used FreshRSS before but I was always annoyed that some sites don’t provide RSS feeds and that even if they provide feeds they don’t provide the whole content through it and only a preview....
Hello! I am migrating some services from an old cloud instance to my homelab. The cloud instance was running NextCloud and as I don’t really need the entirety of NextCloud, I’m moving to individual services. It’s now time for me to move the most important thing from this NextCloud instance: my calendars and contacts....
I believe this is a slightly controversial topic, at least from what I have gathered so far. Some say its best to leave the server on to spare the life time of the spinning rust. Other seem to prefer to save power and boot the server off each night. So wanted to chip in and hear what folks here do and why do what you do....
I’ve been on Tidal for years, but it’s frustrating to use for lots of reasons (they only pay their artists slightly better than Spotify, streaming services are flaky, works poorly with my DLNA home speakers). I’m looking for something I can selfhost with the following features, and I would appreciate any suggestions in...
tup proxies services on the local network to a remote gateway, all traffic between the remote server and the service on the local network is sent through a wireguard tunnel...
Hi! I’ve done some research on self hosting Matrix for Matrix Bridges on a Raspberry Pi 5. Some people have said online that Matrix will be too beefy for an RPI due to large federated chatrooms and information. However, would it still be worthwhile installing just for my own bridges for social media, and maybe as a secure way...
I’m curious what people are using to monitor their backups? I have Borg running on a cronjob, but checking logs periodically is getting tedious, so I’d like to automate that if possible
There’s someone who’d sell me an old lacie 4big raid for 60$. I think it looks kinda cool and would be handy to connect 4HDDs to my small computer - are there any doubts from such an “old” raid? I would be using new disks ofc. The thing came out in 2009 and has USB 3.0 and esata
I hadn’t gone exploring through the settings till now. You can add a share button for your instance by going to Settings > Sharing > Add sharing method. After that you just paste in your instance URL (ex. https://lemmy.ca for me). The steps are the same for both Lemmy and Mastodon...
Maybe using Syncthing or MPD? I’m searching something to keep/share my votes or even maybe listen counts for desktop and mobile. Also it would be nice to create a backup for these data.
My setup exists of one local server that basically hosts Jellyfin and an arr stack. I only access this server locally with PC, TV and phone, however I might setup a Wireguard based remote access in the future....
I have an unused Raspberry Pi 4 (2GB model) lying around and I would like to install OpenWRT on it and use it as a router. I get Internet from DSL so I can’t hook it up on the Raspberry Pi directly, I need to plug an Ethernet cable coming from my actual router to the Pi....
