Well, I downvoted it because I consider pranks to be Not Cool in general, having been a target of a number of mean-spirited ones when I was younger. Others’ mileage may vary.
IntelliJ IDEA isn’t really more generic than PyCharm. It’s a Java IDE built on the generic IntelliJ platform. You can load different language plugins in both.
I mean IDEA has Java-specific stuff just like PyCharm has Python-specific stuff. As far as I understand, IDEA is just regarded as the default “catch-all” JetBrains IDE because it’s the oldest and most well-known, and probably most closely linked to the IntelliJ platform which spawned from it in the first place.
And if you convince the project manager that it won’t work by telling them all the reasons why they come back a few days or weeks later asking why it won’t work.
Even at thrift stores it’s usually not too hard to find a pair with matching size and resolution which are the two big considerations. Getting screens with identical pixel sizes makes all the difference.
Yeah me too, but I think it’s not there yet, when you think out of a less programmer focused perspective, as most of the stuff in games is of artistic nature (which takes time to make, even with all the AI stuff) and otherwise simple game logic for most of these indie games. So something like an interactive GUI editor to “debug” is a must have for artists.
True, Fyrox often gets less love than e.g. Bevy (probably because the data-driven ECS pattern feels more idiomatic in Rust than OOP, and probably because it’s mostly a one-man-show as well)
Sadly don’t think Bevy’s going to benefit too much from this drama. Most people from Unity will want a more complete toolset and probably won’t be wanting to learn a whole new language. Can see a lot of indie devs making the switch over to Godot though
Last time I tried aws, took me like four hours to figure that I had to borrow another IP address (different than the ip I received when created the instance) in order point it at my domain. Took me a long time find that option in the menu too
