Fair amount of schadenfreude at the panic right now, having been shouted down for weeks for telling people they should stop self-indulgently and anxiously begging Biden to step aside, since he already beat Trump and has gained a lot of allies through progressive legislation.

I’m very curious who the DNC is going to dredge up since the only person who could unite the left is Bernie Sanders and the DNC has previously explicitly declined him.

Bernie is popular with the left (including me) but not Democrats at large (and definitely not with the right). He didn’t get nearly enough support in 2016 to make it. He’s definitely not one to compromise his values though, I don’t know where the commenter got that idea.

If he was endorsed by the DNC, I doubt he would have any trouble sweeping the election.

Perfect for trump too, he confounds and infuriates the conservatives but can’t be flapped.

There’s some dumb “not enough” crap kooks are spreading about AOC and Sanders not being left for not literally firebombing the white house over Palestine.

It has to be Kamala and anyone thinking otherwise is dumb.

And I don’t know if Kamala can win. I don’t know if she could do better than Joe would do. But I know she’ll do better than what would happen if Joe had a second debate like the first debate.

This feels very energizing. I think you’ll see democrats get a lot more excited about the election now. They’ll have a great time watching the talking heads arguing over who should be VP. The contrast between team hold-onto-power-no-matter-what and team democrat will not be missed on low information voters.

Or, what would happen if there was no second debate, which I’m sure is what the Republicans were planning for. Why consider a second debate when the only thing it could do is make Biden look better? They would have used every rule and excuse to get out of having a second debate so that the only image voters had of Biden was from the first one.

I’m just going to say it. They can’t put Harris up. Not because she’s lacking in any political skills, she isn’t, but there are far too many swing voters that will sit on their hands or vote for trump if the Dems try to put up a woman who also happens to be African American as the nominee. There’s still too much prejudice and misogyny that wants an old white man over anyone else. She’s been far too quiet as VP to build any sort of following. The press will pull a Hillary on her, the clueless SJW in the Dems will snatch defeat from the jaws of victory because they’d rather have a woman run than win an election. I’ll vote for anyone they put up, but I sure as hell hope they can put someone up that the swing voters will show up for too.

Yeah, this is the first thing my girlfriend and I said to each other, it’s my biggest point of worry and IMO could have been the straw that broke Hillary’s 2016 run. I’m just hoping that the positives shine through at this point.
