I’m voting for the NOT TRUMP candidate until we fix this broken system and have better options. Couldn’t really stand Biden, but I was supporting the fuck out of that dude if it meant we could avoid the shit show that would be a Trump presidency.

Something I take to heart. I will never get a candidate who represents everything I stand for, but there will always be one who represents less of what I stand for than the other.
THIS. Campaign Finance & Election Reform is the most important single-issue in America right now because it impacts quite literally every other problem and the disenfranchisement and frustrations so many Americans feel with the system right ow.
Amidst this 2-Party System, we have no choice but to vote for the lesser-of-two-poor choices.
Between these two parties, only one party has actually advocated for fixing the system.
We need a Constitutional Amendment. It’s the only way.
This movement needs to be grassroots and built state-by-state.
The good news is that there is untapped bipartisan support for said initiative. We just need to ALL keep repeating this, which again, is easy because it can be injected into nearly every single political conversation.

I dont like this person but to be fair I sometimes say yep by accident to something when chatting with people. On an anthropological level, I think grandparents (and I guess post-menopausa women) serve a role for helping raise children, along with other things. Idk I expected it to be worse from this guy haha
See, that’s the problem, you have to make up things to soften the statement that JD Vance was agreeing with. What the host, Eric Weinstein, said was “the whole purpose of the postmenopausal female,” is to help raise children. There was no concession that postmenopausal women serve any other function than raising grandchildren. Stop trying to make it seem reasonable.

I don’t think there is much room for compromising - by providing a more “centrist” view - with the highly misogynistic position that Vance stands behind. And that is why other responders disagree with your point.

The fact is that politics in the US is skewed so far to the right that the options are center-right (Democrats) or far, extremist right (Republicans).
I worked for SkyWest over 10 years ago as a ground worker. I can’t even remember what they called their fake union (wouldn’t have been SkyWest Inflight Association) but yeah. We also had some “you don’t need a union, they’re bad” propaganda as part of our training.
Honestly, it was a pretty fun job as a college student but some of that stuff made me feel a little dirty

Separation of powers. Executive has the DOJ and friends, Congress has the Sgt at arms and Judiciary has contempt. All three are, in theory, immune to interference from the other branches, to allow said branches to defend themselves. Stupid, stupid idea.
