lasagna , in The first pill to treat postpartum depression has been approved by US health officials
@lasagna@programming.dev avatar

Is there a reason why it happens? Like how for example stress and anxiety aren’t intrinsically bad but rather things that helped keep us alive.

dunning_cougar , in Feds alert judge to Trump’s ‘If you go after me, I’m coming after you!’ post

What’s he going to do to a federal judge’, groip in the street outside the judge’s house? That’s against the law.

Central_Incisor , in Incandescent light bulbs are officially banned in the U.S.

Looks in the refrigerator. Look an incandescent bulb! Oven? Incandescent! Flashlight? Incandescent! Bathroom? Incandescent (halogen). Old lamp new bulb? High efficiency incandescent! Oh and then there are all of the exemptions to the higher (not high) efficiency standards like the one for bulbs with a left handed thread.

Incandescent lights were never banned, the efficiency standards were raised for a set of commonly used household lights and that was it.

Treczoks , in Another One Of Trump’s Attorneys Seemingly Admitted (Twice) That His Client Committed A Crime

Probably more like “I deliver nice pieces of evidence for an equally nice ‘Get out of Jail’ card”.

BigNote ,

That’s not how it works at all.

jmsy , in Oregon lifts ban on self-serve gas, leaving N.J. as the only state prohibiting it

Doesn’t long island NY still have this too?

ericisshort ,

LI still has full service gas, but they have no law against self service, so it’s not really the same as NJ or Oregon.

arefx ,

I love in western New York and places have full service still here, although it’s not as common and you can always pump it yourself.

deeznutz ,

There’s one township that has full service attendants but nobody is going to get mad if you pump your own

tallwookie , in Galveston Beach fecal matter — how bad is it actually?
@tallwookie@lemmy.world avatar

where’s the sewage coming from?

spacedancer , in Phony bank accounts resurface at Wells Fargo, with a twist

I hate that they have the best cash back credit card right now according to nerdwallet. I want to get a new credit card as a backup but I really want to avoid wells fargo.

jeffw OP ,
@jeffw@lemmy.world avatar

Do they? Many banks have a 2% cash back card and a bunch have the “rotating 5%” thing. I doubt they’re that much better

xc2215x , in AP: How rogue Mississippi officers tried to cover up their torture of 2 Black men

Generic police brutality and racism it seems here.

cultsuperstar Bot , in 16-year-old Chick-Fil-A worker sent home over ‘unnatural’ hair color

As a frequent customer of CFA, I’ve quite often seen teens and young adults with various “unatural” colors in their hair. But it looks like the policy was “misinterpreted by the operator” and she was able to come back without changing her hair color.

MasterObee , in Gay Louisiana doctor says he’s leaving the state over its ‘discriminatory’ legislation

Last month the Republican-dominated Legislature overturned his veto of a bill that will ban transition-related medical care, including puberty blockers, hormone therapy and surgery, **for minors starting Jan. 1, 2024. **

I don’t know if gender transitioning surgeries for minors is a reason to dislike a state. Seems to say more about this guys morals that he’s pro-life altering surgery for minors.

foggy , in Montana otter attack leaves 3 women hurt, including one flown to the hospital

l’otters are not afraid

SilentSeven , in Montana otter attack leaves 3 women hurt, including one flown to the hospital

It’s Chucky!!

Chickenstalker , in US military may put armed troops on commercial ships in Strait of Hormuz to stop Iran seizures

Fair play. Right after 9/11, the US Navy was willy nilly boarding merchant ships and zip tying their crews like terrorists. Those crews were lowly Asians though, so they didn’t complain.

6mementomori , in Amazon rainforest: Deforestation in Brazil at six-year low

oh my god, that’s a steep decline

DontTreadOnBigfoot , in Brazil police raids leave at least 43 people dead
@DontTreadOnBigfoot@lemmy.world avatar

Okay, but which people?

If we’re taking about 43 guys with AKs guarding a coke processing plant, then 🤷🏼‍♂️

43 expecting mothers walking their dogs, not so good.

Sir_Simon_Spamalot ,

I think they deliberately omitting this part…

What they didn’t omit was that all the human right activists are concerned.

The same human right activists who stayed silent on the fact all these criminal activities are also taking innocent lives…
