What ever happened to the loan forgiveness plan where all they were doing was correctly applying the law to loans that should have been legally forgiven already, but weren’t, due to bureaucracy?
Didnt we already go down this path, and it was found that it was already covered by multiple other agencies, and the Surgeon General had no jurisdiction?

The Surgeon General doesn’t have jurisdiction to declare a public health crisis? Seems like exactly their jurisdiction. It’s not like they’re trying to pass or enforce any laws. Plus those other agencies are clearly derelict of duty, so I’m all for the any functional agencies doing whatever they can to force positive change on this troglodytic tire fire of a nation.
They didn’t say there’s a public health crisis “on crimes,” they said there’s a public health crisis of gun violence, which is obviously very accurate. I’m not sure if you’re aware, but when it comes to public health, guns can actually only have a negative impact. That’s how they’re designed.
Again, they didn’t pass a law, they’re not a legislative body.
But you bring up a good point, climate change is a public health crisis. I’d actually be worried if the Surgeon General wasn’t worried about it. Inflation’s just a symptom of capitalism though, you gotta get to the root of the problem if you want real change.
I understand that institutionalized racism has long been and continues to be a thing, where predominantly white neighbourhoods are kept quiet and intact while neighbourhoods whose residents are predominantly other races end up being the first target for displacement and “physical impacts”. Most likely the land in the neighborhood of the selected alternative costs lower than that of the other neighbourhood, which isn’t Amtrak’s fault but it is one of the facets of this institutional racism.
The Interstate Highway System is a prime example of this in many metro areas, and ironically improving this rail corridor would be helping to reverse the damage by making alternatives to motor vehicles more attractive.
On the other hand, this effort is treading towards the line of NIMBYism. With proper engineering, the effects of tunneling under the neighbourhood are overstated.
Still, I think that if there are legitimate health concerns, the ones who pay the most in direct and indirect costs should receive commensurate benefits. Provide better transit to the neighbourhood that connects to the nearest station serviced by the future corridor. Subsidize premium comprehensive healthcare for these residents to help address any concerns from construction impacts. Fund soundproofing improvements if noise impacts are a concern.

Asshole. I’m against punitive incarceration. People who attack children due to bigotry should be punished twice as hard as those attacking people who can defend themselves. The lunacy is unreal. I think the threat to society is obvious.
I feel like I need Facebook. I used to belong to dozens of forums between RC cars, aquarium stuff, and robotic stuff. All but one has shuttered, and Facebook Groups are my only option to connect with people for my hobbies, especially locals. Even state clubs used to have their own forums.
I’m curious about what ESC to run in my beetleweight. It’s going to have 4, 22mm brushed motors and a 460oz servo. The plan is to run twin ESCs on a shared receiver, but different channels, obviously. Do I need a BEC for this application if I’m running a single 3S lipo?
