Asafum , in Trump Considers Dropping Out Of ‘FAKE NEWS’ ABC Debate After ‘Biased’ Sen. Tom Cotton Interview

“What we really need is an honest debate with principled moderators on a network built on trust and seeking veracity of all claims: Fox News! Only the most Trustworthy™ will do, Sean Hannity and Laura Inbread… wait… Ingrate… No… Ingram! Right right Ingram.”

nokturne213 ,

No where near enough random capitalization to make that believable.

Asafum ,

Very true. I honestly don’t think it’s random though, I believe he’s branding terms. It’s always a name or a concept: Crooked Joe Biden, Democrat Witch Hunt, Kamala Crash, etc… when I do it I just add the “™” to make it more obvious.

BertramDitore , in Police officers are starting to use AI chatbots to write crime reports. Will they hold up in court?
@BertramDitore@lemmy.world avatar

Honestly, dictation is pretty much the only use of LLMs that I’m comfortable with right now. Not “let the police cut corners and rely on it” comfortable, but this is the one thing LLMs are consistently good at.

Of course the police will abuse it, like they abuse everything and everyone, but let’s regulate this shit and make it a useful tool. Then maybe they can have the time to solve some crimes. Oh I always forget, that’s not really their job.

BonesOfTheMoon ,

The New York Times which has had an op ed from Tom Cotton is center left? Interesting.

Kalysta , in Airbnb's struggles go beyond people spending less. It's losing some travelers to hotels.

The whole point of AirBnB was that they were cheaper than hotels, but you had to clean yourself.

Now it’s just as much as hotels with shittier service.

Zannsolo , in Canada imposes a 100% tariff on imports of Chinese-made electric vehicles, matching the U.S.

I mean it probably a horrible idea to have a bunch of cars running Chinese software in our country. Their prices are artificially low because of terrible labor standards. But we need to do something to bring the price of EVs down.

realcaseyrollins ,

Don’t we already have EV subsidies? Are those going away or something?

macaro ,

The subsides are for getting an industry off the ground before it becomes competitive against traditional technology. EVs aren’t there yet because of inherent limitations to how our metropolitan areas are organized. Hybrids seem to be the best bet, until there’s a high voltage (1kv?) charger that doesn’t destroy the battery. Otherwise, society should investigate alternative fuel distribution.

Asafum , in California could be first state to help undocumented immigrants purchase homes

Can we maybe work on helping them with citizenship first before we go pissing EVERYONE off with this?

Homeownership is an issue for everyone lately and this is their bright idea? Fuck the people that live in the US, they get at most a 15k first home buyers benefit, but if you hopped the fence you get 150k! so apparently you need some form of social security number so it’s not straight up border hopping to homeownership which is better I guess.

I swear they want to lose this election… The Fox headlines are just writing themselves with this one.
