Ulrich_the_Old , in JD Vance leaves the door open to family separations in a new Trump administration

Will they be deporting vance with his Indian wife? Or will he be allowed to stay in the USA if he finds a white wife?

Why did he choose that color sofa in the first place?

Project 2025 is pretty clear that family separations are a feature of mass deportations. They affirmatively want this, the door is wide open. If they say otherwise, they’re lying.

The leading Project 2025 architect Kevin Roberts, President of the Heritage Foundation, stated that mass deportation was a top priority. Mass deportation is mass family separation. Project 2025 seeks to rip apart American families, not limited to new arrivals; the plan seeks to target the 80% of the undocumented population who have called the US home for more than a decade, including the Dreamers, TPS holders, and immediate family members of U.S. citizens. phoneymouse , in California could be first state to help undocumented immigrants purchase homes

Meanwhile, California won’t meaningfully build housing. This will do nothing to address the actual fucking problem, which is that there is a shortage of 2-3 million homes in the state. Let’s stop driving up the cost of housing with USELESS demand-side incentives that only increase competition for the limited supply of houses — further limiting supply. The only way to lower the cost of housing for everyone is to actually increase the supply.

God damn; I am democrat, but in the state of California you really wish there was an alternative some times.

Also, in an election year, whoever introduced this was an idiot. Now it becomes something Kamala has to defend.

When I read this headline, I thought this was about Trump’s Project 2025 shit about banning divorce.

Sometimes the questions take more time than the candidates are actually given. I can’t blame them for trying to talk over each other every god damned minute.

Could this be considered a harm reduction strategy?

Not that I think CSAM is good in any way, but if it saves a child would it be worthwhile? Like if these pedos were to use AI images instead of actual CSAM would that be any better?

I’ve read that CSAM sites on the dark web number into the hundreds of thousands. I just wonder if it would be a less harmful thing since it’s such a problem.

That went in the opposite direction from what I expected. I figured it’d be team orange that wanted the orange man to be able to interrupt, not that they’d fear him doing so. I’m on the side for hot mics as of now.

Mouselemming ,

I guess Kamala wins either way now. Either they get hot mics and she has the strength to use his bluster and rudeness against him, or they don’t, and she can calmly set out her points in complete sentences, with facts, without being interrupted. They’ve pre-cast his bullying interruptions as “lack of self-control” rather than “assertion of power.”

Empricorn , in Airbnb's struggles go beyond people spending less. It's losing some travelers to hotels.

AirBNBs are not hotels. I guess that should be obvious, but my sister booked one for her family and me to attend a wedding. They technically did have an iron as claimed, but it was broken and the steam setting didn’t work. Oh, and there was no ironing board, which it turns out is pretty key to the process. Every single hotel in the country has this basic amenity… Spent twice as long trying to iron on the top of the dryer, burned my slacks (ruining them), and I look bad in photos.

If we could just work out how to efficiently mill waste plastic into 15 μm or so sizes, we’d then be able to mix the plastics directly into our wheat flours and whey protein powders. Why try to beat plastic when we could just become plastic?
