Thorry84 , in It’s official: NASA calls on Crew Dragon to rescue the Starliner astronauts

Damn you know they have real doubt about Starliner with this decision. People were saying Nasa was just being super careful and the vehicle was perfectly fine like Boeing said. But with the astronauts being forced to use Crew Dragon, they can’t wear their space suits. Because the suits they use on Starliner aren’t compatible with all the SpaceX stuff. This can be a big risk, if there is a problem with the vehicle, the astronauts have no protection. But Nasa must have decided that was a smaller risk over using the Starliner. That says a lot.

purplemonkeymad ,

Can’t they just send up extra suits with the dragon capsule? Badly fitted suits are probably better than none, it’s not like they are piloting it down.

General_Shenanigans , in Former Alaska Airlines pilot who tried to shut down engines in-flight shares his story

Psychedelics can trigger psychotic episodes in some people, especially if they have pre-existing psychotic tendencies. Unfortunately, they’re not for everybody, mainly for this reason. My theory is that they may be making it sound like the mushrooms lasted longer than they normally do in hopes of potentially saving his future piloting career. I don’t think it will work, but I think that’s the motive behind their narrative. Admitting that you’re prone to psychotic tendencies will ensure that license never gets reinstated. Pilots tend to hide things like this. They love flying and losing that ability is losing the love of your life and your livelihood.

shalafi , in Ron DeSantis smeared this trans candidate. She just won her primary.

Not sure how other Floridians feel, but DeSantis seems to have a poison touch at the moment. And he’s not going to recover. If you come for the king, you best not miss.

qevlarr , in Felony charges dismissed against ex-officers charged in Breonna Taylor raid
@qevlarr@lemmy.world avatar

Charges dismissed does not mean he was found not guilty. They could charge him again. Given what we know, the cops fucked this up. No-knock raids are a death sentence.

ChillPenguin , in Judge rules Breonna Taylor's boyfriend caused her death, throws out major charges against ex-Louisville officers

This is horribly depressing. Honestly fuck this country.

aeronmelon , in Statue of John Lewis unveiled in Georgia to honor late civil rights leader

The Unites States has so many unsung heroes that there simply isn’t enough room to include statues or buildings or streets that honor traitors.

jordanlund , in Felony charges dismissed against ex-officers charged in Breonna Taylor raid
@jordanlund@lemmy.world avatar

Hate to say it, but I called it back when this happened. Shooting at the cops NEVER gets you an expected outcome.

That being said, the no-knock warrant was the reason the cops got shot at.

The bad warrant was the reason for the no-knock raid.

The judge only stopped looking for root cause at step 1.

haunte , in Ron DeSantis smeared this trans candidate. She just won her primary.

DeSantis is such a pathetic little worm. He was flying high a couple years ago, I’m glad he’s being brought back down to earth before he gets kicked to the curb. Now, is he going to try to take out Rubio or Voldemort for a Senate seat, or does he just fade away with his high heel cowboy boots?
