Facebones , in Trump Warns That if Kamala Harris Wins, ‘Everybody Gets Health Care’

The most annoying part of this story is there is zero chance Harris actually pushes for universal healthcare.

She’s still a milquetoast corpo establishment democrat, it’ll NEVER happen.

masterofn001 , (edited ) in Mpox screening stepped up globally as more cases emerge outside Africa

Coming soon:

COVID 2 : monkey boogaloo

Will govs react promptly and accordingly this time?

Will it be worse?
Because anything could transmit by the sounds of it public transportation in any form would be impossible.

brianary , in FDA wants to cut sodium in packaged and processed foods by about 20%

The risks of sodium aren’t universal (some people appear to have immunity), and were exaggerated by the sugar industry.

I am sure Martin Scorsese is thrilled to hear that his film is being used as an excuse to persecute immigrants.

Pacattack57 , in 12-year-old Texas girl dies after parents used smoothies to treat life-threatening injuries

I don’t understand how people can do this to their children. I have no sympathy for people who won’t love their kids. They deserve all the karma.

Apytele , in Black women voters strongly back Harris in an election they view as crucial for democracy

On one hand this reminds me of a tweet I once saw that said something to the effect of:

“We live in an oligarchy where the fate of all of us is decided by a few powerful individuals and a bunch of people think the problem is that more of those people need to be women, black, etc instead of just tearing the whole thing down entirely” although iirc it was shorter and better put and used more emoji.

But also I’m a little hopeful that previously lower social classes are becoming a little more equal is a reassuring sign that we’re at least headed in the right direction.

Life is really complicated and I’m thinking about putting in a return; the bastards didn’t even bother to ship me with a decent manual, and half of the ones you find laying around are incomplete and in languages that literally don’t exist anymore!

ohwhatfollyisman , in JK Rowling falls silent as she could be prosecuted in Imane Khelif lawsuit

she thought she was Hermione. turns out she was just Malfoy.

MindTraveller ,

Musk is Malfoy. Rowling is Crabbe.

growsomethinggood ,

She’s a Stan Shunpike- radicalized offscreen, leaving everyone else confused

BigMacHole , in Sniper shot Trump gunman's weapon and delayed him - report

It’s a Good Thing the Gunman was a White Person trying to Assassinate a Political Candidate and not just a Black Kid in the Park!

TransplantedSconie , in The 2025 tax war starts early as Harris and Trump vie over child credit

One party actually implemented the policy, while the other fought tooth and nail (and finally succeeded) to end it. I’ll let you all guess which one.

P00ptart , in JK Rowling falls silent as she could be prosecuted in Imane Khelif lawsuit

No need for lawsuits. Put her in the ring. Let her defend her convictions with her face and fists.

kibiz0r , in Support for LGBTQ+ equality has decreased: GLAAD study

The specific question was “I support equal rights for the LGBTQ community”

  • 2021: 79% said yes
  • 2022: 81%
  • 2023: 84%
  • 2024: 80%

Seems early to assume an actual decline. 2023 might have been weird. Election years might be weird. Who knows? But it is worth keeping an eye on.

Side note: If your chart has two years, and an assigned color for each year… Don’t use both colors for both bars.

If not for this specific case being tied to some text about going down from 84 to 80, I would not have been able to understand the rest of the charts.
