Netanyahu can get fucked. Like full stop. I have zero problem with any Jewish people who aren’t engaged in genocide. Love you guys. But those that are can get fucked from top to bottom. And he is.
Gross. Everything about him is gross. To me, he is the personification of every horrid Jewish stereotype. I can’t wait for him to drop dead; he will not be missed.
The Luddites weren't wrong. Their name has been badly misused. They were skilled professionals who were concerned that they would no longer have work as a result of the industrial revolution. They were largely right in that assessment. That doesn't mean you should try to hold up societal/technological progress like they did, but their concerns were valid. They weren't just afraid of technology as they are generally portrayed.
During the Nakba ('47-48), Israel abandoned Jewish settlements in the hinterlands to the mercy of Palestinian militia and Arab soldiers so their troops could continue with the ethnic cleansing in parts of the country deemed more vital. David Ben-Gurion would make speeches apoplecticly predicting the second Shoah while in private and in his diaries he was preoccupied with the ethnic cleansing and knew the Arab armies were no threat. (especially Trans Jordan whom he had a secret side agreement with)
This is a reminder for the people who think Israel will prioritize the hostages, and the people who think Netanyahu is the problem.
And isn’t there an arrest warrant for him? Oh right:
Netanyahu’s visit comes two months after the chief prosecutor of the International Criminal Court, Karim Khan, announced he was seeking an arrest warrant for Netanyahu.
She’s allowed to, yea. Trump is no longer allowed within 100yds after the repeated non-consenual flag touching that’s been caught on tape - I believe it was two months ago that old freebie managed to secure the restraining order?
You obviously missed the part where the SCOTUS declared that former Presidents (and Founding Fathers) have had the right to molest the flag all along. Ben Franklin called it the Writ of Flageus Gropus. He may have been drunk at the time, though, and confused the barmaid for a flag.
As a Gen Xer I’m heartened to see Gen Z stepping up to literally save the world. Seeing the swell in support for Harris and in voter registration numbers, I for once am feeling hopeful. I hope they can accomplish what the forgotten generation couldn’t.
Gen Z reporting in. Above comment’s point was not to generalize an entire demographic as ‘doing good’. & it was a good one. Don’t assume that of us either.
Judging entire groups of people as a monolith is always bad. I’ll add ‘good’ is subjective of an individual’s values. Expect future generations to mock us for what we believe acceptable.
I’ll caveat that not all changes are ‘good’ changes too. The future generations might not value the things we hold dear, like the jury trial. One day maybe they’ll sadly see that as us wasting ordinary people’s time.
People in the future are not automatically our betters, but our equals, (hopefully) armed with the knowledge of our failings and armed with that of our successes.
Very good point, and I did not intend to make an argument about generations being different. Generations indeed consist wholly of individuals with their own opinions. On an individual level, age is no better an indicator of personality than your zodiac sign.
In my comment I just wanted to express that, after a long period of dread, I am feeling more hopeful after seeing so many members of the young generation getting engaged and making a difference where I personally feel we failed.
It was also meant to express appreciation and gratitude to those who are getting involved and as encouragement to those who are yet to do so.
And yet again we have congress members clapping like trained seals to debunked Israel propaganda and the characterization of anti-war protesters being in favor of the killing of civilians.
“My friends, defeating our brutal enemies requires courage and clarity. Clarity begins by knowing the difference between good an evil. Yet, incredibly, many anti-Israel protesters choose to stand with evil. They stand with Hamas. They stand with rapists and murderers. They stand with people who came into the kibbutzim – into a home – the parents hid the children, the two babies, in a secret attic. They murdered the families – the parents – they found the secret attic and then they murdered the babies. These protesters stand with them; they should be ashamed of themselves.”
It’s must be like one long nightmare for Palestinians. It’s akin to the Great Tribulation, and the politicians who claim to believe in such things are way too happy supporting Israel. I cannot imagine the US standing much longer, not after this and everything else this country has done to the world. It has to end.
Maybe start with “anti-Israel protesters choose to stand with evil.” He’s taking about people protesting mass murder of civilians by Israel. Fuck that guy with a rotten pineapple.
Immediately after October 7th, there were various sensational and outlandish claims made by Israeli officials that babies were beheaded, put into ovens, murdered in their nurseries, and generally singled out and made to suffer with intentional violence. Since then, no evidence whatsoever has been provided to substantiate these claims and the majority of them have been dropped completely.
None of this is to diminish the atrocities that were committed on October 7th, but it is telling that Israel and Netanyahu in particular seem dead set on making the events on that day seem as barbaric as possible in order to somehow justify the large-scale massacring of men, women, and children that is happening in Gaza.
