Nicely done. Let them rot

Haven’t you heard? Educating children is leftist commie bullshit. They don’t need math or science or logic just like their parents didn’t have. Just keep them at home and thump the Bible at them every now and then, they’ll turn out fine.

I had no interest in this event happening but looking at Musk’s track record I think he was never serious about this in the first place. Another ‘epic troll’ by Elon.

The article doesn’t say where she taught. Post Falls. I’m not surprised. Sounds like Post Falls.

Post Falls is where my ultra conservative Catholic school was based. No surprise here

You know a few who aren't to you. You also know a few who know a bunch who are definitely abusive cops. Cops who allow abusive cops to continue policing are bastards.

Even beyond that, the very system that protects cops over the public and avoid scrutiny ensures no cop can actually be a good cop. Good cops get fired or have "accidents" on the job. That's why all cops are bastards: they can't not be in a system like that.

Fuck fox news

NarrativeBear , in Webb telescope spots cosmic question mark in space | CNN

Things like this always make me wonder what other objects/shapes we see around us look like something what we don’t have any knowledge about.

For example, a rock on a beach looks exactly like some alien species, but we don’t recognize it as such because we have no knowledge of it.

Another example, if our language never used a question mark this cloud/galaxy would not look like anything special.

Absolutely. Police need to be held accountable to the crimes they comment.

PolydoreSmith , in Raid of Small Kansas Newspaper Raises Free Press Concerns

I’m not sure if you posted the entire article (can’t check b/c paywall), but I’m surprised the NYT didn’t mention the 98-year-old co-owner of the paper who fucking DIED a day after police raided her home. This whole story is absolutely horrific.

jeffw OP ,
@jeffw@lemmy.world avatar

The article ends

Mr. Meyer said he had never experienced government pressure like this. “If we don’t fight back and we don’t win in fighting back, it’s going to silence everybody,” he said. He had returned full time to Marion during the Covid-19 pandemic and stayed on, retiring from his university post and spending more time writing and editing for the newspaper, and living with his 98-year-old mother. He said he does not receive a salary, though he receives an annual bonus if the company turns a profit at the end of the year. On Saturday, his mother died. In an article published online on Saturday evening, the newspaper connected Joan Meyer’s death to the search, writing that it had made her “stressed beyond her limits.” The headline: “Illegal raids contribute to death of newspaper co-owner.”

PolydoreSmith ,

Okay good well at least they mentioned it, even if it is at the very end of the article.
