i don’t know. i think there are many inconsequential things you can’t buy over the counter in the united states. i have to wonder if it’s a health insurance complex thing.
I mean health insurance plays a part in it. Conservatives don’t want to pay tax money on narcan for people they consider valueless when they are already paying for their own health care. How do I know they think they are valueless? They don’t want them to have access to a life savings thing. Also plenty will just straight up tell you that if you ask.
The government has already been doing this on a larger scale with higher altitudes. It’s funny nobody seems to care as long as they can’t see the drones but once they’re low enough to be visible watch everyone lose their minds.
Yes, but they also have educated and trained police. Here, a candidate must meet the requirements for university, be fit, and psychologically stable before he or she can start a training of three to five years.
Being police is more than just be intimidating and knowing which end of a gun is.the business end.
Just the fact she has to shoplift probably also means she has very little money or is struggling to get buy on her sallery. She’s getting a baby soon and is maybe trying to save up because the US has no proper help to offer. Being shot and murdered by the police for a relatively harmles crime is beyond crazy for a society to accept. The policeman should be arrested for murder and abuse of power and Final put behind bars
Just the fact she has to shoplift probably also means she has very little money or is struggling to get buy on her sallery.
As much as I don’t think this woman should’ve been shot, shoplifting isn’t usually done by people who “need/have” to and it’s also usually items that aren’t necessities. Ask anyone who works at an Ulta or makeup section of a department store. In fact, I watched a lady run out of an Ulta into a car that sped off who, according to employees, stole a bunch of perfume and they told me and my girlfriend they were likely going to resell the perfume online.
Sure, sell it to be able to afford some meager amount of groceries for her and her baby. Meanwhile the fat cat cop, who probably ate a breakfast before work, is out there looking for some breakfastless person to shoot to justify the need for him to keep his job.
I think the cop should absolutely be fired prosecuted, but I don’t think police shootings are to “justify the need” for police officers to keep their jobs.
That doesn’t even make sense: police officers involved in shootings are likely to be investigated by IA, which is compounded stress ontop of a job that probably already sucks, who’s possibly even pushed out of the force by IA, and if the shooting an officer was involved in was in fact justified (not this one) you’re left with an officer who’s unfit mentally and will likely feel some guilt for the rest of their lives.
In the world you think we live in, encouraging police shootings because it “justifies” a need for police leaves you with a bunch of underperforming and mentally unstable bunch of police officers and a forever staggering rate of total police officers and their presence in neighborhoods where they’re actually needed; as people will resign and no new officers will replace them.
Excuse me, fired? They should be prosecuted. They murdered someone for no reason. That is a murder. Murder is not allowed. Killing someone in self defense isn’t a murder, but this clearly was.
This police officer deserves to be reprimanded the way any citizen would be for shooting and killing someone without just cause.
But then they bought more perfumes with that money. Since it was a significant amount, they got a discount but then sold those perfumes for MRP. They kept doing this over and over and before you know it Bob’s your uncle and they started a chain of perfume shops globally. Now they are the fatcat CEOs of Global Perfumes Inc. and spend considerable resources per annum to make sure people don’t shoplift from their stores.
The car the lady was driven off in was like decent looking ~2020 model car. Maybe it happens the way you say it does, I don’t know. I’d like to see data that shows if either how you what you say is true or not, but generally when I’ve personally witnessed shoplifting it’s not done by people who seem like they’re truly struggling.
The reasons for shop lifting are many, but it usually boils down to needing money because their daily job isn’t enough to get by and live a happy life. Or they can’t get a job at all for one reason or another. Desperate people do desperate things.
True point. The whole scenario is written in such a bad way in the article its completely glossed over, and even I missed that fact. It just makes the whole mess even worse. It could have been anyone that got shot here just for being scared by threatening police officers who are escalating the situation
It’s an interesting grammatical thing. In English, proper nouns are generally capitalized. Where proper nouns are names of specific things, not generalizable ideas. Like Bob, England, The Tribune, Christianity etc are proper nouns, while cat or guitar or car are not. This is extended to proper adjectives, which are generally derived from proper nouns but not always. So like “the man was English”. We capitalize English because it isn’t just a descriptor of a trait, like fat or green, but because it is describing membership to a nation, and nations are proper nouns. Blackness describes a nation type relationship, and when you say someone is Black, you are not saying that the are literally the color black, but rather belong to a Black identity or nationality. In the same sense that you say someone is Jewish or Protestant or Welsh, not jewish or protestant or welsh. Idk English is weird.
But Hall emphasized that these forms of care are—contrary to misinformation spread by the state’s lawyers—not only scientifically proven to be safe and effective, they are also essentially identical to forms of medical care offered to cisgender (non-trans) young people. For example, puberty blockers, which temporarily halt the advance of adolescence, are commonly prescribed to young cisgender girls undergoing “precocious” puberty. These same drugs also allow trans kids to make more deliberate choices about their bodies as they age into adulthood.
The reason that this law exists is to hurt children, not protect them.
Oh hey, it's you, spouting more transphobic bullshit again. Remember the other day when you were upset, thinking everybody was mad at you for no reason?
That you can read, that is. Sorry, I should've clarified. It's cool that you can read. I was starting to have doubts, after you failed to identify what part of My Shadow Is Purple equates to self-harm. You know, a children's book that you seem to have been incapable of reading? That one. The one where I linked you to a video of the book being read aloud (just in case you couldn't read), and you still didn't provide an answer to. Remember that? I remember.
Anyway. Now here's a peer-reviewed study on the efficacy of gender-affirming healthcare:
Transgender patients experience disproportionate disparities in mental health, physical health, homelessness, and violence. These disparities are not inevitable, however. Gender-affirming care has consistently been shown to improve quality of life, improve health outcomes, and reduce rates of SI and SAs.
Note from me, "SI" refers to "Suicidal Ideation" and "SA" refers to "Suicide Attempt". Figured I should explain this, since I know with 100% certainty that you won't bother to read the paper, just like you didn't read My Shadow Is Purple.
Or, here's another study specifically about puberty blockers:
After adjustment for demographic variables and level of family support for gender identity, those who received treatment with pubertal suppression, when compared with those who wanted pubertal suppression but did not receive it, had lower odds of lifetime suicidal ideation (adjusted odds ratio = 0.3; 95% confidence interval = 0.2–0.6).
Fuck off with your bad faith arguments, bud. Seriously. You're just straight-up objectively wrong in your beliefs, which are founded on misinformation and hate, and I will prove it to you every. single. fucking. time. if you allow me the opportunity.
Since you didn't read My Shadow Is Purple, here's a quote from a book you're probably more familiar with, judging from your deep-rooted hate:
Even a fool, when he holdeth his peace, is counted wise: and he that shutteth his lips is esteemed a man of understanding.
Puberty blocking is a form of therapy. Puberty blockers are a form of medication.
Gender dysphoria isn't depression (look up "comorbidity"; it's a big word, so I'll give you some time), you wouldn't treat it with antidepressants. That's like taking an antacid for a headache.
"My beliefs come from peer reviewed studies" is such obvious horse shit. You didn't read the studies I linked you to, clearly.
This conversation is done until you can prove to me that you've read and understood the studies provided to you. Since, y'know, that's what your beliefs are supposedly based on. You can prove me wrong whenever.
Again, puberty blockers are not treating depression. They're treating gender dysphoria in this example. I can tell you still don't know what "comorbidity" means.
In your expert medical opinion, how do you think gender dysphoria is treated? Here's a hint: It's described in the articles you still haven't read.
Anyone who genuinely believed that Trump was going to pay their bills could probably use that as a good starting point for building an insanity defense.
I completed the cycle of jabs and now I don’t need another one for a while here, when it come to covid, and I suggest doing the same if you haven’t, this is Still a virus and it’s no joke. Now I’m waiting for the flu shot to be released here, cause after the experience of the last year’s flu I say never again.
I find it really baffling that of all the missions to Mars since Viking, none have had experiments to detect life. Did the negative Viking results really kill off all curiosity in the search for current life? It seems very short-sighted.
So, what does the linked article mean when it says “In the mid-1970s, NASA sent two Viking landers to the surface of Mars equipped with instruments that conducted the only life detection experiments ever conducted on another planet.”? How does that differ from what you describe in subsequent missions?
I know a lot of them have looked for evidence of past conditions amenable to life, such as water. Have any of them tried to detect current life?
