So are you just going to spam bullshit about Russia and Africa across Lemmy all day? ECOWAS wants the Niger junta out, this isn’t just some western meddling.
I used to think like you, but someone mentioned that the more we call it X, which is a horrible name, the more the twitter brand loses its value - which is good!
The actual AC issue aside, I feel that this is a good argument for some urban redevelopment to plant more area/climate appropriate trees. It would provide shade and provide some offset for the CO2 emissions. Getting shade between the sun and the buildings would help make the heat more tolerable and getting some shade over the roadways and parking lots would help decrease urban heat bubble effects.
I hope some big firm takes up the nonprofit just to be able to counter sue for payment. It’s a research firm. Detailed and thorough is literally their jobs.
The article is about unpaid rent from the covid era. You can only make the landlords take on the debt for so long before larger financial repercussions occur. The right solution would have been for the state to take it on, but that would require *gasp*socialism

Aren't there any laws in the US that threats against a government official are a crime or felony? Make the police earn their pay and send them after the culprits.
That is a problem that should not exist in the first place. But it's America, so one has to deal with it. Maybe it will be necessary to get the professionals in, especially if the crime can be assumed to be crossing state lines in a way.
Yes. And it’s likely that the police and/or FBI are investigating. But, this isn’t a TV show. Investigations take time and there is no magic that let’s the police discover the sender withinthe first 40 minutes to allow another 10 for an overly dramatic court room examination.
Real life is messy, and it’s quite possible that there just isn’t enough evidence to locate the sender. Let alone actually prosecute them. Most crimes in the US have really low closure rates. Honestly, I’d be surprised if they mange to locate the sender.
I'm well aware that they won't catch all, or anyone in the short time frame. But whoever they take off the road is an improvement for society. Even if it takes months.
