These memes seem a lot less clever if you’ve ever been close to someone whose life got snowed under by addiction, or lived in a neighborhood that has a crack problem. Seeing real crackheads really hustling is pretty fucking bleak. They’re not getting ahead. They’re not winning. They’re burning everything with even a shred of value to service their addiction, including family and personal relationships.
I don’t know, maybe it’s a very apt metaphor for capitalism, and what our capitalist system expects of us, but I have no desire to trade the people and things that make my life bearable just so I can brag about having a couple extra dollars in the bank.
It helps to not be a loser right now. Elon is in his 50s and still acts like a childish, insecure douchebag. The fact that you are able to acknowledge your previous loserdom makes you already less lame than Elon. No amount of money can make him cool because he completely refuses to ever work on himself.
If they can live there permanently, they’re not homeless, are they? And that sounds surprisingly anti-capitalistic, almost like what this meme is talking about.
Getting these people help makes sense from a capitalist perspective too, help them and they can work again and probably do a full life of that. It really isn’t anti-capitalist.
Why is it not a residence if you can stay there indefinitely? That sounds like a residence to me. The Internet tells me that ‘residence’ means ‘the place in which one lives; a dwelling.’ If they don’t ever have to leave, they live there.

Retirement and a nursing home are no longer economically feasible and my landlord doesn’t allow additional residents, so good luck out there mom & dad.
One of my favorite things about Reddit was that whenever two Germans found each other in a comment section they would always start a long reply chain in German. I always thought it was cute.
