🙄 if McDonald’s kills you it’s your own fault.

Christ… personal responsibility is dead. Fuck might as well just ban oil and sugar while we’re at it.

OwlPaste ,

Go to elections with this and you got my vote!

Viking_Hippie , (edited )

Trans fats and sugar are more addictive than many if not most recreational drugs.

Add that there’s a lot of food deserts where healthy food simply isn’t available or at the very least isn’t within the price range of the people who live there and you can stfu with your victim blaming disease shaming “personal responsibility” bullshit.

ZILtoid1991 ,

The whole “sugar is as addictive as drugs” thing comes from fitness gurus showing MRI scans of people under sugar rush and and coke, then concluded they’re thus the same exact things.

The guy that invented steel had to live and breath iron in order to create change.

Its not wrong to still use the old ways.

Hell. I hear some people still use the imperial system. Lol.

Governments

Viking_Hippie ,

Religious governments. Including the US one and every other one that lets religion influence policy

doingthestuff ,

There have been some bad ones. But do they measure up to these? https://lemmy.world/pictrs/image/defc9efb-8b56-4916-b5d6-cb9713658734.jpeg

Tlaloc_Temporal ,

If you consider Imperialism a religion yes. Imperialism so often adopts the predominant religion (Nazi, U.S., H.R.E.) or directly competes with it (eastern bloc communism) that I don’t think it’s an unreasonable position.

Perhaps we should blame the root cause here: non-representative authoritarianism. The taking of power not given.

I use Firefox, but at the same time I have Vivaldi installed for PWA, like for mbin right now. Why Firefox removed SSB is beyond me, was like one of the things I used regularly. Being able to pin my Mastodon account to the KDE taskbar and click it to pop it open in it's own window is something I really don't want to do without.

refalo ,

Vivaldi is proprietary, for those that don’t know.

vashthedrifter ,

It’s worth to give a look at Floorp, it’s a fork of Firefox that natively supports PWA.

FYI: There’s an extension for PWAs in firefox
