I built a PC for the family yesterday, and I’m hoping to get away with going 100% Linux. What makes me a little nervous is that Epic Games, GOG, battle.net, EA store, etc don’t officially support Linux. If I try using Lutris, or Heroic Games Launcher, or something similar to use those platforms, is there a chance my account...

I’m looking for a decent capture card that works well with Linux. It’s mostly to capture switch gameplay and stream it with OBS. Using Linux Mint with cinnamon if that makes a difference.

most my playtime in windows has been while playing in vr. but now ALVR has gotten good i don’t think i’ll be seeing much windows playtime next year.

I took the dive into Linux gaming at the start of the year and never switched back to windows. It’s so much better for everything and Steams work on big picture has let me turn my PC into the Linux console of my dreams since the steam machine vaporware days....

Apparently my setup, running the steam deck UI for gaming on my TV, is registering as an actual steam deck. Also unfortunate that the non steam games don’t count, but hopefully next year this will be all purple/blue.

so this keeps happening to monster hunter rise and ONLY monster hunter rise on my current install of eos....

For the past few weeks, the download speed on steam via USB-Tethering on my Linux distro (Arch, btw) has been steadily going, barely reaching 2 MB/s right now. I thought it might be the ISP slowing Steam specifically down, since every other download worked at the expected speed (~15-30 MB/s)....

I’ve been seeing a few of this type of post, so I decided to share mine. Now, you might be wondering “why the heck is this guy posting his steam playtime chart in a Linux gaming community, when most of it is windows?”...

I have a few questions, please comment if you match all of most of these:...

I saw there was a somewhat similar post to this, but I’m kind of celebrating the fact that this was the first year I was able to game exclusively on Linux! I’m very thankful for all of the effort from the people involved in all of the aspects of Wine/Proton, it’s great to not need to reboot to play games.

This mod replaces Nvidia’s Frame Generation with FSR3 in games like Cyberpunk 2077, The Witcher 3 and others. Apparently it works really well (in Windows). This is a massive boost for people with RTX cards older than the 40XX series....

Decided to try it… Hat in Time 1080p, Very High, VSync OFF. NVK is vulkan-nouveau-git gddf2ca4, on kernel 6.7.0-rc5-1-mainline. Blob is 545.29.06. 3995WX+RTX3090. Proton Experimental....
