Nouveau GPU System Processor (GSP) firmware integration that allows making use of NVIDIA’s binary GSP firmware on RTX 20 “Turing” and newer GPUs for having improved support. In turn this GSP route also provides initial support for GeForce RTX 40 series support....
Currently switching to Linux and did a benchmark for Red Dead (basically the only game I’m playing at the moment). I found the results kind of interesting....
So, I’m just trying to play good ole SH3 on my PC. I’ve initially installed it manually, which led to a bunch of audio weirdness. So then I found the reddit guide for Steam Deck, so I thought that would be a good point of start. I downloaded the yaml, and ran it through Lutris as instructed. And sure enough it seems to...
I bought a Steam key for the game Hi-Fi RUSH from Fanatical today after reading numerous reviews and reports from proton.db, only to find that the game just does not launch. I press PLAY in Steam and all it does is change the PLAY button to CANCEL. I have tried forcing numerous different versions of Proton, adding -safe or -dx11...
A bonus part since I realized Windows optimizes everything for gaming out of the box. I rerun some tests even on Windows though and if the difference was more than 3% I included the higher score....
Hey everyone, I recently got Jedi Fallen Order for 75% off on steam. However, now that it’s installed, the game doesn’t launch, just shows the blue playing button and stops after a while. I’ve tried proton experimental and GE. I’ve also checked the files integrity using steam....
I picked it up and have been playing it. The first day, it seemed to run fine, but today I’ve been having a ton of trouble with it. I’m struggling to go 15 minutes without crashing, and when it does crash, Steam stops responding entirely until I reboot....
The last part of this benchmark series. Windows was thermal throttling like a madman and still managed to be faster when all was said and done. A testament to how bad the Nvidia drivers are on Linux.
Nvidia won’t go above 80W cause the drivers are bugged. Still, decent showing. Next video will be Linux vs Windows on the 3080M, last one of this benchmarking series.
I am trying to repeat my 10 Benchmarks video on my 3080M laptop, which I haven’t really used for a while apart from testing NVK. I had forgotten just HOW much Nvidia sucks. I had to reinstall the OS cause OpenSUSE stopped booting after I installed the drivers the first time. X11 is ALSO buggy on Nvidia and crashes randomly....
A request that was asked since these games apparently run better on Windows. Vermintide 2 is about 20% faster on Linux and Doom Eternal about 20% faster on Windows.
