A little searching found that this is a copy protection file. Interesting because I copied the disc’s files to a directory and installed from there. Wondering if installing from the discs themselves would fare better.
Prepare for a few headaches with anything that is running through ea craps. I had quite a few with titanfall 2. Everytime ea launcher updates, break the game and I have to delete (just rename as a backup measurement) the game prefix directory so proton would rebuild it again.
The game prefix directory (if that is how it’s called) is located in ~/.local/share/Steam/steamapps/compatdata/
Also, just a stable accelerated desktop on install. Basic home/office and web/media consumption use.
Regarding cuda, yeah never know. Probably not for a long while as one of the benefits of their current driver is that it uses the same codebase between linux, freebsd and windows, so they should have feature parity in that regard. There are definitely pro/cons for their driver though.
Saves are either stored in wineprefix/user/documents user/Appdata/local user/Appdata Roaming I juat go around copying those and games that I own legit steam stores the saves
You need to search for the fix. Done it myself once. I believe there are executables for this. EA messed up their launcher when the remade it a while back. One of the things that need fixing is getting the correct font on your device. It’s pretty fucked up.
Last time I did Anomaly the install script was written in powershell, and the only way I could get it to run was to install a windows VM and install it from there… updating and running was fine afterwards via lutris, but just getting it installed required a windows VM.
