Even Ubuntu - one of the slowest Linux distributions wipes the floor with windows. Even without huge optimizations that are present in the newest kernels and with the worst CPU governor. Wonder if slower GPU performance is due to mentioned governor?
I have a huge library of game EXEs on my computer, but they run at a 4:3 aspect ratio as they’re old, Proton/Proton-GE/WINE-GE keep the aspect ratio and place black bars left and right, which is desireble, unlike wine who stocks them to the left side of the screen.
So, this has been going on for a long while now but I hoped after a bit of a hiatus it would maybe fix itself when I come back. Basically, the game does not render any of the close up natural ground textures around a certain radius around me anymore....
It’s just me or RetroArch developed the best FLOSS alternative to proprietary UI? You have a nice overlay, CRT shaders, bezels, some netplay function, customizable interface. All of this completely free and super fast....
