When trying to install games on an ext4 external drive I get a disk write error from steam. Whenever I reset the permissions on the drive to both read and write, not just read, steam immediately reverts that whenever it’s opened.

Not directly linux gaming, but still think that its kind of relevant and interesting.
I am currently running GTA V from Heroic with Proton GE Latest. I have Fsync, Esync and Gamemode enabled. When it runs on windows, GTA V gets around 115 FPS and GTA O gets around 60-70 whilst on Linux GTA V gets around 80 FPS and GTA O gets a mere 30 FPS....
I’m on Fedora and I use the xone driver for a wireless Xbox One X/S controller. Patch 2 seems to have drastically slowed down the Vulkan Renderer. Before I was able to get 80-110FPS in the Druid Grove, but now I am only getting 50fps. DX11 seems fine though, but I prefer using Vulkan since I am on Linux....

I’ve been having issues with GTA V on Linux too, with performance being heavily affected by a growing ram consumption that either just slows down the game, creates intense stutters, or just makes it freeze entirely by consuming every ram&swap available....
Heads up for those who want a game controller that works well on Linux: Target.com has the DualSense for $50 USD right now....

But I’ve spent most of the time tweaking and setting up and downloading stuff rather than actually playing. Games seem to work really well. Not doing benchmarking but I really like how stable the framerate is when frame cap is in place. So far everything I’ve tried was absolutely buttery smooth.
