Hi all, I have a 4k monitor and the steam app is very tiny. I have found out that I can fix it by running the app in the terminal with steam -forcedesktopscaling 2, but it is getting tiring launching it through the terminal. Is there any way I can change something in the app itself and make it launch with that command? KDE...

The worst part of using a gaming laptop on Linux is that, despite the great work of open source developers and hobbyists, it’s still way too clunky to use a hybrid graphics setup imo. Once you want to use an interface that’s only connected to one GPU (such as HDMI) you’re left messing with switching utilities like...

Chroot? Different user logins for extra home directories? Groups? Most of the packages need access to CUDA and localhost. I would...

Bash-like scripting has become ubiquitous in operating systems, and it makes me wonder about its widespread adoption despite lacking certain programming conveniences found in other languages. While it may not be the ideal choice for large-scale software development, the bash shell possesses unique features that make it...
I have had a Logitech G903 for almost 3 years now, and it worked great under Linux. It had smooth scroll properly working with solaar and I could remap/deactivate buttons with piper....
So I installed Signal messenger and later needed pulse audio and lsp plugins. Now the search in the menu no longer finds Signal in search. :-( I have to go to “Internet -> Signal” to open it....
I recently switched my server over to running Plex and Home Assistant in Docker. I like the ease of transfer (just move my compose file and one directory where I have stored all the configs and I’m set) as well as the simple permissions management to give access to directories....
Looking for opinions.
I assume it doesn’t, but thought I’d ask....
So been trying out Garuda Linux for a while now (my first distro), but feel ready to try another distro. Therefore looking for a distro that suits my preferred requirements, anyone has any tips?...
