Lifted trucks. My assurance goes up 10x if they have rims and tires meant for the road.

Lifted Dodge Ram. They are more likely to be drunk too.

instamat ,

Welcome to my new segment, You Might Want to Know?

Dodge and Ram are two different brands and product lines. Rams are the trucks, and Dodge makes muscle vehicles.

But as to your point, you’re more right than you possibly know!

redsol2 ,

My friend and I bought trucks around the same time. Mine is a simple tradesman Ram, no bells and whistles, primarily for moving and hauling stuff that can’t fit in my wife’s sedan.

I’m a pretty passive driver. Live and let live, y’know?

My friend had a similar personality when he first got his Tundra (of course with all the extras he can afford). Then he goes and spends $10,000 on a lift, winch, and floodlights. Now he’s like a different person. He drives super aggressively, whipping round corners, weaving through traffic going 20mph over on the highway. He was driving me through some quiet neighborhood the other day and nearly mowed over a cyclist. I asked him what the hell he was doing and he shrugged and said “if she’s gonna ride a bike in the street, she’s gotta look out for trucks. Not my fault if she doesn’t see me”

TL;DR - truck drivers are fine, a truck is a tool like any other vehicle. Lifting your truck turns you into a redneck scumbag overnight though apparently.

Anyone with a truck carrying giant flags. If you are in the US, you know what I mean.

They’re in Canada, too.

I’m conflicted by this because the other day, I saw one of these with LGBTQ+ flags and not the typical American, Mexican, Rattlesnake or Trump 2024 flags.

Still, it was on a giant truck clearly not for working on a farm or hauling anything but ass and those giant flags are obnoxious no matter what they are signalling.

It’s easy tho because the users kept the grass watered so it’s a slow burn.

We can piss on things to put them out. Women might need some practice but it’s doablr

Great guide, could you tell me what sort of benefits I might expect from Selenite?

Squids ,

You get the benefit of having a rock with cool optical properties! It’s clear! It’s chatoyant! it’s like a natural fibre optic cable!

ATDA , in The healing power of crystals

I was a skeptic but a friend who worked at a crystal shop was ALWAYS around them. Even hauling them by the box then two in a matter of months. He was jacked!

@ickplant That's completely wrong. Each rock/mineral has a hidden skill. Once acquired, you have less money.

  • Teslas
  • Really large trucks that are clearly not being used for actual work
  • BMWs
  • Lexuses
  • Shitty little ricers that aren’t fast, they’re just obnoxiously loud
  • Anyone with a rented box truck (like a UHaul) driving in the far left lane of the freeway.
  • Cop cars

I’m surprised to see Lexus on that list.

This is the reason I’ve never used discord outside voice chatting with friends a few times per month.

A basic photo from my phone is over the file size limit. It’s essentially unusable, and I’m not going to get me and my friends and family to all pay a subscription for a feature literally every other chat app provides for free. Sorry.

JeffCraig ,

I have supported Discord with a nitro subscription for as long as I’ve had an account. It’s a terrific program and there’s no reason to expect premium features for nothing in return. The mentality that everything should be free is why we have so many fucking ad driven online business models and I’m over it. I pay for what I use if it’s a good service.

kittyrunningnoise ,

it’s amazing that you’ve been downvoted for saying you pay for a service you use that’s not ad-riddled junk. how else do people expect these entities to make money that pays for servers, employees, etc.? someone operates the hardware and it’s not free.

ThEgg ,

Discord’s monetary scheme is so backwards. Pay to be able to upload a file greater than 8 MB… up to 100 MB. Pay to be able to upload and use animated emojis, pay to be able to use emojis from other channels. These are not features worth paying for.

teamchuckles ,

What would you suggest Discords monetization system be instead?

ParanoidPizzas , in They don't get it

When I was 15, my dad purchased me a plaster saw (still have it) and handed me his drill.

Then told me to make it look neat, but “don’t fuck up because your mother will kill us both”.

I ran about 4 network points through the house.

Nothing like fear to produce a 100% perfect finish 😉

And then there’s me who just screwed up installing a new door knob. I stripped the threads on the screws cause I used the wrong size screws drilling. Now if the new knob fails in the future, I need to buy a new door lmao

helixdaunting ,

If it’s a wooden door that you’re screwing into, dab some match sticks with a little bit of liquid nails and gently hammer them into the stripped-out screw hole, and cut them flush with the hole. Once the glue dries, you can drive the screw back into the matches and it’ll have enough wood to bite into.

Mcballs1234 ,
@Mcballs1234@lemmy.ml avatar

I’m tempted to do this, do you have any tips?

Lifter ,

If you can, re-use existing sockets! Old telephone or antenna lines can work! You tie the cable to the end of the old cable and pull it through the existing PVC pipe.
