It’s a real sticker. I want it too, but, knowing the drivers in my area they would take it literally.

partial_accumen , in Goodbye, old friend.

Future Martian geologists. “This rock has no business being here. There must have been a glacier at some point that moved it here.”

I wonder if there’d be a different prefix for a Martian geologists. I suppose they could be called areologists?

What are you, an etymologist?

I used to think that data was easily preserved, so clearly it’d be around for future generations

I no longer think this to be true - not without extensive work to keep it alive

Scribbd , in Virginia is shrinking!

Just like magnetic pole flips, Virginia is due another shrink snap. It might snap out of existence when it happens.

The fact that there’s a period in the caption bothers me more.

Cowbob12 , in How do they do the blood test?

Who would be Blair in this case?

Fozzie Blair, of course.

imPastaSyndrome , in Dumpsters

Why is it that I can’t open anything from catbox? I get a security error. I see it for a second then it blinks out in any lemmy app and just doesn’t load in browser

dditty ,

Sounds like it might be a network issue

imPastaSyndrome ,

Nope, same on verizon, home Network and on the go

Has anyone ever seen a baby on board sticker and thought “well I was going to drive recklessly, but I better not”

not_that_guy05 ,

Nah, but I do think of bonus points for crashing into them.

moistclump ,

Apparently it’s more to let paramedics know in case of crash that finding and saving baby becomes priority #1. I know this from a 2011 meme so not sure how accurate the information is.

bulwark ,

Guess that makes sense. Still not putting a stick person family on my car.

synae ,
@synae@lemmy.sdf.org avatar

I’d be willing to bet paramedics and other first responders have actual training as to how an accident scene should be triaged, and don’t depend on which cutesy decorations the occupants may or may not have.

explodicle ,

Hey what’s that tiny seat with extra padding in the backseat for? Meh, no sticker, whatever.

synae ,
@synae@lemmy.sdf.org avatar

Single adult life hack: get baby on board sticker, always get first attention from the paramedics when you DUI

DakRalter ,

I wonder what the source is because in 1784, Connecticut made claims on the northeast part of Ohio (the Western Reserve). Virginia did have a claim on some part of central/southwest Ohio called the Virginia Military District, but that’s all I’m aware of.
