That weekénd accent mark is chef kiss. Gives the perfect emphasis to make sure you know it’s a strong French accent. At least, I’m pretty sure German would have spelled everything zie rather than ze.

I got taxi cab driver.

RadButNotAChad , in This leaves me quite dissatisfied with the world.

I can fix this for you. Garry Newman is 41 and new is spelled correctly. garry.net

FlyingSquid OP ,
@FlyingSquid@lemmy.world avatar

Now you’re just making me upset by reminding me that some people spell Gary with an unnecessary extra R.

RadButNotAChad ,

It does look like it should rhyme with Sorry

Alexxxolotl ,
@Alexxxolotl@sh.itjust.works avatar

And they spell it like that literally all the time, even on Wikipedia! I don’t know if it’s just a common typo, but it could really mislead people to believe that his name isn’t Gay Oldman.

ParsnipWitch , in A place for all the feels

Another sexist shitpost. As if women were allowed to show all their emotions. Hahaha you have no idea

The weird horny thoughts on the bottom right is probably getting off being jailed like that

polarbear236 , in Yo brother sick car yo!

It’s a little weird to think my truck is very nearly as old as I am

cyborganism ,

It’s too bad that car manufacturers stopped making small pickup trucks.

Blamemeta ,

Blame the epa and badly written laws.

galloog1 ,

I don’t think it was badly written for the time but it’s definitely been gamed to the point where pickup trucks need to be part of emissions standards instead of exempt.

DragonTypeWyvern ,

Or I can blame the people actually doing it, as well as actively trying to murder the EPA on a daily basis.

polarbear236 ,

The newer rangers are alright, though definitely bigger than they used to be. My ‘01 just keeps limpin along though, sucker won’t quit

this_1_is_mine ,

no the new rangers suck they deserved a better design. its ass is too tall stuff dissapears behind it. the engines are too high strung little hot boxs. the interiors are cheap in the wrong way and look nice but will all go the way of the ranger center console lid… ripped torn and smashed. though the aluminum body soumds fun till its a drill welds and replace the whole panel moment. i never get wleded panels back do you …they always rivet them back together for me.

Captainvaqina ,

How many aluminum body panels have you gone through?

this_1_is_mine ,

on work and personal 8 in total all on f250s though with 6.0ls in the last 3 years. normally somone backs into something. like a light pole or construction dumpster …btw generally any damage to bed panels and its easier to replace the panel then fix it.

PP_BOY_ ,
@PP_BOY_@lemmy.world avatar

Blame CAFE laws. It’s almost impossible for auto makers to sell small LUVs in the US without pricing them higher than most large trucks.

bdonvr ,

Hyundai Santa Cruz is decent but yeah

cyborganism ,

I’m thinking more like the old Mazda B-Series.

Hubi ,

Both of my cars are older than me. And at least one is in better shape than I am.

Appreciation does not require knowledge.

sirboozebum , in The undead feed on the living.

What is the context of this?

UnD3Rgr0uNDCL0wN OP ,

Widdecombe is an ex Tory MP who when in Government pushed for cuts to welfare and many hard line right wing policies we now see in action today. Someone disabled phoned into the show today, he’d lost his wife this year and Widdecombe’s reaction was to roll her eyes at his problems and him. His response was “bless her heart.”

Filthmontane , in We've Been Duped

This is why unions are important. The job description is contractually binding.

  • Kecessa ,

    Yep, I had a unionized job where it wasn’t the case and the union even refused to negotiate that clause because they feared the employer would just create ridiculously long task descriptions so they could have us do pretty much anything.
