I dont like using amazon but they’re often the cheapest for the things I need. Thats benefited me, but also disturbs me as you watch high street retailers die off. I tend to screengrab products so I can come back and compare prices later. Some of the sales prices are bogus, they’ll jack the price up a week before, reduce it again for the “sale” and put “35% off!!!” You’ve really got to keep on top of it and be vigilant.

I think the issue is more that he wasnt involved. You tend to consent to a photo or video. The AI stuff is being done for money, not to remember, not really as an exploration of the artform…

There are 2 main charities near me, both train people to fix bikes, one trains local school kids how to ride. I’ve just filled a shoe box with lights and spare parts, and sorted out a bin bags worth of clothes I no longer need. I’ve yet to find time but will look over the 2 bikes and make a decision soon. I’ll be a bit sad to see them go, one of them I did up to 10,000 miles on over the years I used it.

I quite like some of his stuff. The people I’ve seen moan about him tended to be those into prog or shred styles of guitar. Its a bit of a shame, but thankfully rare. I do think White sits on the edge of that nostalgia thing. Other bands like Boards of Canada also sit there.

I used to play guitar like Satriani. Used to do about 5 hours practice a day, had real dedication to it (obviously family, work etc gets in the way after a while do I tailed off). Everyone said “dont learn all the theory, it ruins music” and tbh, it didnt. I think the people who hate White and co tend to have an inflated sense of ego or something. Every week I used to get spammy, trashy letters from a credit card firm. I had no desire to have one of their 40% APR cards. 52 letters a year. Got a bit sick of it in the end and noticed prepaid envelopes in there so started filling them with prawns and banana peel. The envelope was the type that takes over a week in the UK mail, so by the time they got them back they were rancid. After a while the letters stopped dont know if it was due to my effort or not.
