I’m not sure how practical/sustainable of a project this would be, but I feel that it could possibly be a useful project in the future if instances begin to purge old content due to storage constaints. The archiving service could store all the data using Object storage to archive it in read only. That way, at least people can...

Network effects are real. Lots of people stay on Twitter because they want don’t want to lose the content feed. So we made a quick importer tool that automatically brings your Twitter follows to your Mastodon account.
I think now is a great time to remind everyone, like sync’s developer, Lemmy’s developers need to be paid too! The amount of time all the devs put into making lemmy exist, in my opinion, should be worth some of your money. Someone linked a site that lets you search all the Lemmy communities but I lost the link. IIRC it presented all the communities in a tile based layout.

It often happens that a given lemmy link didn’t match with my own login from another instance. This causes troubles to comment and participate in the thread. This is what I have learned so far. Is there a better method of doing this? Browser extension suggestions are welcome....

Looks very similar in terms of both timing and pings to what happened to lemmy.world in recent days, they could be targeted by the same attackers....
I’m just asking for recommendations in case, I feel like migrating to a smaller instance or maybe try kbin for a change (but I’ll miss the voyager web app)
