The main reason for the Linux operating system not seeing widespread adoption is because of its multitude of distros. Ubuntu, Debian, Arch, Mint… there are just so many choices, just like how when someone asks how to join the Fediverse people will response with “which instance?”...

I don’t think the Fediverse will become mainstream. But I’m actually happy about that. And so should you.

Should we create a second activitypub, the general goals would be to kick Meta/Mastodon out of the workgroup, mastodons goal seems to be to drive EEE by ushering facebook so they can “improve” activitypub. I feel like we need to splinter off an continue development without meta

Could we get all the former subreddit mods who migrated to lemmy/kbin to unite and make some promo for lemmy/kbin on /r/place?

A specific one, or at least that support it ? Didn’t find anything on play store or fdroid.

I wonder what is going to be the future of all of these ActivityPub-based services....
