Lemmy vs kbin witch one should in chose terms of privacy and content amount?

I get the impression that we’re headed for the same issues that pop up when we put all our eggs in one basket with Reddit/FB/whatever. People flock to the largest instance, and someday that instance could go down due to cost or the host losing interest....

I’m trying to find an android mastodon app that can handle links from outside the app and open them in the app. Tusky is not going to implement this feature request and I haven’t seen anything from the official app nor Fedilab....

Which do you think is the better microblogging platform? Why?

I like Lemmy. Active development, lots of third party apps, active community, etc but what other Fediverse projects are worth getting into like this one?...

With today’s news of Letterboxd being acquired by an investment company, I got to wondering if I should start weaning my movie obsession off of there and onto something more open before the inevitable enshittification begins. I’ve seen the controversy where lemmy.world defederated from 2 piracy instances. So since there is no one big owner what is stopping someone creating a instance that host CP or other illegal stuff?...

Despite the rules they claim to enforce on their instance, when I see a racist, bigoted, or obnoxiously offensive take here it’s pretty much exclusively a user from there....

I wonder what is going to be the future of all of these ActivityPub-based services....

Im wondering what ways people advertise/grow their lemmy instances. I recently just created mine and would like to put it out there as one of the options. How did you discover your instance and what drew you to it?
