I see it as a win if all instances defederate with Threads but several “read-only” instances federates with it. At least it can be viewed in privacy friendly way.
This is my first day in the Fediverse, and I’m building out my sub list in Lemmy right now. I noticed that searching for Communities only looks within the instance that I’m logged into. Is there any easy way to search across all available Lemmy servers for Communities?
I made the choice of hosting some Fediverse software on a domain name I own, however that piece of software (Akkoma, upgraded from Pleroma) has since become unacceptably unstable, and I’d like to switch to something else. I read that if I’m already federating with other servers, I shouldn’t switch software on the same...
Found this by accident, it appeared in a google search....
As title, standard lemmy in browser…
So fediDB does show the combined numbers for lemmy/kbin....
Is there a community for peertube similar to !mastodon? I feel like peertube could really use some sort of lemmy driven community engagement. Particularly because it integrates so well into lemmy. It reminds me of an old extension that would replace youtube comments with reddit discussions when available.
Hello,...
I notice that when I search for communities I see the same community has been created on multiple instances. I could subscribe to all of them but I’d much rather it be one larger community. Does any else see this as an issue or find this frustrating? If so, have you done anything that’s made it easier to deal with or have...
Drive we are so privacy focused here. What is to prevent myself or anybody out there, from starting to report individual instances of GDPR and CCPA....
Let’s say I’m from instance A and use a community from instance B. Let’s say another user of instance C, that’s not federated with A but is with B, post in B. Can I see that post?
unless im missing something, fedidb.org seems to only track this stuff over the course of the past 14 days....
Imagine the following:...
That’s a feature I’d love to see implemented in the future, if you could log in to any federated service with one fediverse account. I think some newcomers might have hoped for this feature when they heard that you can see content from any platform with one account....
hello! is there a fedi instance (i dont really care about the software) for mentally ill people? i only found disabled.social so far but they have way too large blocklist and i dont want a server that blocks so many decent instances...
Liftoff keeps refusing to show me my feed and it keeps saying that I’m logged out....
Hello, compatriots! I’m new here (joined a few hours ago) I’m more than glad to become a part of what is referred to as the ‘new face of Reddit’. What brought about my joining was my search into the Fediverse after Threads come out with the promise of being a part in future iterations of the application. With the take...
As far as I know, Lemmy Connect is currently the only way for individual users to block instances themselves. Sure, you can do this if you host your own instance but not everyone wants to go to that length....
Since the Fedidverse is all connected, should I have one account for accessing both Lemmy and Mastodon or have separate accounts for each one (as I do now)?

A new feature has been added, this one is especially useful for recurring post - it allows you to add the date and/or time of the post to the title....
