Yes this is great! Between this and wefwef which is Apollo lookalike right now for iOS ppl this is great! Just need everyone over to Lemmy now but that’ll prob take decades
Sorry. I should clarify. I was reading a thread about Apollo going offline and Boost as an alternative so a preregisterd for Boost. I wouldn’t turn down an official Apollo app for Lemmy though.
Some said that they had read Christian acknowledging Lemmy and that he said if it maintains this kind of user growth, he might work on Apollo for Lemmy.
I originally used sync but then moved to boost. They’re both quite good and honestly the main difference between them is just personal preference. Once the Lemmy apps are out, I recommend just using both and seeing which one you gravitate towards more
I’d love for wefwef to have a Material Design theme automatically applied when using an Android phone, but other than that it’s right now the perfect Lemmy app and it’s extremely fast when you install it with Chrome!
I want to use wefwef but I just can’t get past the fact that it looks like a single page app designed exclusively for iOS. I think it’s the permanent back button which you basically never see on Android because it has a dedicated back button/action.
I’ve had an Xperia S and Z5. I loved both phones because they were well designed aesthetically, both hardware and software, in comparison to the competition at the time such as the early Galaxy S models. As part of their UI skins, they also had some thoughtful features and some hardware features which at the time weren’t so common, such as side fingerprint unlock with the later models. Nothing truly revolutionary, true, but just a well rounded experience, and at least with their early models, worth the slight price premium.
Then Sony stopped selling their phones in Australia a few years ago, so that was that. :(
