Aren’t raindrop and Pinboard online-only?

Zaphodquixote ,
@Zaphodquixote@sh.itjust.works avatar

Nah, you can export raindrop stuff. Or could, I haven’t done it in a while because it syncs. They may have changed things though.

jcrabapple ,

I believe raindrop has offline/sync capabilities

small44 , in How does everyone feel about Sony (+Ericsson) Phones?

Too expensive. I don’t want to pay more than $500 for a phone

lemmyvore ,

The Xperia 10 models are usually around $400.

HidingCat ,

The 1 is stupid priced, but the 10 is pretty decent, I recall.

You can subscribe to them all via your home instance (if your and target instances are not federated). I.e. you, most probably, do not need any multisub feature at all.

dub ,

Right but if I just wanted to see Android stuff from all the other instances and communities how would I do that?

Wouldn’t my home screen just be clogged up with all of the Android instances and communities as well as everything else I’m subscribed to? What if I just wanted to see Android stuff?

Lemmy software doesnt support multisub yet.

soljin , in How does everyone feel about Sony (+Ericsson) Phones?

Love my Sony Xperia 1 IV. Has all the features I miss from the galaxy line (mostly as card). Heat issues weren’t nearly the monster reviewers made them out to be.

Quartix , in What phone are you using?

I’m using the OnePlus 9 Pro right now, and I’m really happy with it. I switched from iPhone X to OnePlus in August 2022. I thought iPhones were better for 5 years, and I was wrong. I had iPhone 5, 5s, 6 and 7 before. Usually I upgrade to a new phone every 2 or 3 years. My Nothing Ear(1) and PC on Linux fits into the android ecosystem very well

How’s the battery life on it?

soljin ,

Solid, easily get a full day or more based on how much I’m on it.

B21 , in How does everyone feel about Sony (+Ericsson) Phones?

I’m currently using 5iii and xz1 compact. I really like the old school design, the inclusion of SD cart slot and headphone jack, and it’s easy to unlock. However, the update policy is bad (2 yr OS + 1yr security) especially when you factor in the price, and the availability is limited to select markets only.

MargotRobbie OP ,
@MargotRobbie@lemmy.world avatar

I think the 2yr OS + 1yr security is just par for the course for most Android phones nowadays, to my immense frustration.

How is Google behind Samsung and Oneplus? Don’t they even make their own chipset now? Embarrassing tbh

paperbenni , in lemmy app with multisub feature

Absolutely. Ideally this would also be implemented on a backend level. An easy way to create multi sublemmies and share and Link to them would make it possible for massive communities to form on and migrate to Lemmy in a sustainable way.

kromem ,

A thousand times yes.

Federation should ideally work not only at a server level, but a community level.

If there’s three different /c/aww communities across different servers, their respective mods should be able to join into a meta-community.

There is the potential for a less moderated child community to end up polluting the meta community, so membership should probably be able to be revoked by majority mod vote.

But aggregating a meta-community across each sub community could allow for a much more seamless growth between servers and avoid the duplication that’s inevitable by putting the onus on the client-side.

Liftoff (Android) has an option to show All from multiple signed on accounts simultaneously. That might be worth checking out.

It’s under active development of course and I did find it in Google Play after searching by name (“Liftoff”) and scrolling down.

coffeemonster OP ,

That’s a neat feature but not relevant to what I’m asking.

Samsung Smart Switch is your best option. It is probably the most 'complete' backup solution that doesn't require rooting.
