What is the easiest way to try all the DEs?
As title says. Obviously I could setup different virtual machines or spend the time and install all the DEs in one VM if it is even possible without breaking the OS. I’m wondering if there is an already made iso or something that installs all the maintained DEs for trying.
Where does all the cut/shaved hair end up that isn't donated?
So I know some hair may be donated for the making of hairpieces or the like, but…I don’t imagine the same can be done for shavings/trimmings, nor do I imagine most cut hair is donated…...

Where can I learn more about Native Americans before during and “after” colonization?
All my life, from when I was a little Republican shitstain to now, I always had a soft spot for the Native Americans. No rationale or so-called “nuance” ever made what the settlers did okay. In school we didn’t learn much about the Native Americans. We learned a tiny bit about their infrastructure and where they would...
system freezes when waking up from suspend
Hello Linux people, I need a bit of help. I wanted to leverage the new 545 NVIDIA drivers, but no other OS that I know of has them yet, so I installed Arch Linux using the handy archinstall script. I followed an external guide on how to get NVIDIA cards up and running. This one specifically:...

Do you think there's better ways to fediverse?
Personally I think that if there was like a central link/front end to access everything and then have each user be able to have a recommended list of instances/hosts to access would be a more user friendly solution and a better solution for search engines. I know the fediverse is about decentralization but having a central front...

Does running applications inside a container as an unprivileged user have any security benefits?
I’m new to the container world. Does it have any security benefits when I run my applications as a non-root user in a docker container? And how about Podman? There I’ll run the container as an unprivileged user anyway. Would changing the user in the container achieve anything?

Who have logs of how users vote?
Besides it’s a very important question for our privacy, I suspect some of my comments getting downvoted at set periods of time from other accounts. I don’t understand how the fediverse work and what I’m asking is who has vote logs? Who I can ask, if a bot, like on reddit, got dedicated to downvote every post from one user....
Can sufficiently energetic EM waves of a specific frequency affect weaker EM waves of a different frequency?
My initial thought is “no,” since our eyes, being receivers for specific wavelengths of EM radiation, can’t see frequencies like infrared, no matter how bright. Likewise, my cell phone’s WiFi and cell modules don’t conflict with each other (as far as this layperson can tell, anyway)....

I have a server where I believe I have disabled root login via ssh. I think it is done correctly, as I cannot login with root myself via ssh, but I would’ve thought that it would be reflected in /var/log/auth.log. Instead, it shows up as failed password entry. Is this intended?...
