I see we’re just gonna keep the Reddit norm of posting bullshit headlines for clicks

cRazi_man ,

That’s a problem with users, not the platform.

Captain_Nipples ,

I’m aware. I was hoping this would be more like the old Reddit… but its not unfortunately. Dumb users have made their way here as well

In Germany, the last conscripts were called up in 2011.

I hope so. It’s about damn time, tbh.

And to preemptively respond to all the libs who might see this comment and proceed to shit a brick: Russia “winning” this was inevitable from the very beginning. The sooner it is finished, the sooner this particular meat grinder, which was started, exacerbated, and perpetuated by fascists and their NATO backers, can finally be ground to a halt.

I’m sorta respecting Macron’s drive to make Europe plough it’s own furrow away from the USA.

On the other hand, I don’t trust Macron and his ilk to lead Europe. I trust them barely more than I trust the USA. I don’t like Macron’s approach to Ukraine or his domestic policies. At least he is cool about Taiwan tho.

Europe overall is still buying tons of Russian fossil fuels, they’re just overpaying for it due to sanctions. A high bill is exactly what that entails!

Currently holding my newborn as I type this. Up until a few months ago, this little human being was a frozen embryo.

Both of my children were IVF babies, and I’m about as left leaning as they come.

Also, we’re not wealthy by any stretch. We ended up participating in a clinical trial that provided free IVF therapy (minus some misc costs).

I absolutely feel sorry for our fellow American citizens who are going through this horror, regardless of their political affiliation. Politicians are dealing in lives and livelihoods as if we average citizens mean nothing to them (spoiler alert, we don’t).

You should look into expanding your worldview.

    stoly ,

I should? I’m complaining about how people in a state voted in people who would do something as horrid and cruel as this is and I should expand my worldview? Maybe, just maybe, it is possible to look at the accomplishments of a group and judge them based on that. All of this “you should feel sorry for people in Texas” nonsense falls into this same category. Yes, I can feel sorry for individuals who are victim of these sorts of atrocities while still believing that Texas is a shithole state that shouldn’t exist. Alabama is no different.

Further, you take exception with my comment on wealth while admitting that you didn’t pay for it yourself. Seems pretty disingenuous.

Well since the US military uses more oil than any other organization in the world and ships aren’t exactly the most eco-friendly part of it, I’m guessing it’s somewhere between a shitload and infinite gallons.

At least the 11 largest ships and all the submarines are nuclear powered? But yeah, it’s a fuckload. Just don’t look too closely at how much gas jets dump before they land on a ship.

There is a growing sentiment within the Biden administration, for example, that its interests would be better served by pressuring Zelensky to sue for peace, rather than persisting with a military campaign he stands little chance of winning.

    I seriously doubt this.

    GONADS125 ,

Yeah, it is most definitely in the US/NATO’s best interests to continue supporting Ukraine against russia, as the longer the conflict continues, the more severely russia cripples itself against any future conflicts. It’s already an impossibility for russia to feasibly launch a successful offensive against any NATO nation at this point.

Why the hell would we stop supporting Ukraine when that serves to further our own interests and further weaken our greatest enemy?

That is, unless you’re a compromised republican/MAGA moron… (Hope it’s clear I’m not referring to the user above me here.)

    NegativeLookBehind ,
