I hate everything leading up to this and what will lead after this with our political judiciary, hate that this was in no way brought up in good faith, but basing assistance on class is literally the best way to do it, and sell it to the people at large.
I lowkey find this ruling OK in a vacuum. Assistance should be based on wealth, not race.
You can be rich or poor, black or white, and still be left behind economically. Race is a good indicator because history, but doesn’t capture the fundamental underlying problem of oppressed underclasses.
When you base assistance on class/wealth, you help EVERYONE who needs help, and you both help and sidestep the hillbilly voters wondering why “Dem Blacks” have a hand up while their family farms (their lives for GENERATIONS) are left to rot and are left behind.
Seriously, pro-worker policies are possible in the US, it just has to be framed as pro-worker in general, not just pro-a-race-america-fucked-over policy.
This is interesting because my job is oddly specific enough to involve talking about things like this for real.
It’s not a terrible idea, especially if you’re in an area with a long lunar night (a few weeks) where temps are around -130C. That being said, daylight is roughly the same temp but on the positive side.
I don’t understand why they need a reactor though? Can’t they use radioactive plutonium like is already being done on Mars?
And solar panels/Lithium ion batteries aren’t your only other option for power, either. Fuel cells with all kinds of different chemistries are being looked at as promising.

NATO is a defensive alliance. If France went to Ukraine, other members wouldn’t have to follow, only if it spills back into NATO territory and the corresponding member state requests aid.
It’s the same thing as when not many nations followed the Yanks on their Middle Eastern adventures.

Not necessarily. Russians attacking Poland in response to a limited French deployment would cross an actual red line, that would force every NATO nation, even Hungary, even the US, to intervene directly.
It would turn the logic of the war around, with Russia being the country being struck from places they can’t retaliate at.

I mean they are not obligated to. Look at Yemen. Do you see Finnish and Polish forces there? If NATO was involved, you would.
I know penguins live together but isn’t it kinda hard for virus to spread in cold conditions? Also, different penguin groups avoid each other. Even the virus reaches to one group, it’s unlikely to spread to another.
