I love to see the growing numbers. The larger the numbers the more communities will be filled and the better the engagement will be.

My oldest cat (13) is a long cat. When she was 6 months I adopted her she still had the kitten belly and retained it for it a good while. Because she’s so long her stomach bulge was in the middle of her body instead of near her hind legs which is hilarious. Because of that her nickname was always Bean/Beanie because she was shaped like a green bean.

Anyway. When Disenchantment came out I had a huge soft spot for it because of Princess Bean.

How is it legal to make up a fee then offer a paid membership to avoid the fee you just made up? How is that different from the mob guys that would collect your “insurance” membership so that you didn’t incur a “business burned down” fee?

Downloaded Connect on Android and I’m really enjoying it. I hope to see Lemmy do well!

chewbacastheory ,

Is connect another way to use Lemmy?

Zippit ,

The main thing that bothers me about Connect are the ‘Material You’ colours. Can’t figure out how to get it just black and white. So for now I’m on Jerboa.

djmoneystax ,

I just have the theme set on dark mode which is what I’m used to. I haven’t seen the material you stuff.

Vita deserved better from Sony

Bartsbigbugbag OP ,

I got it very late in its lifespan, just a few years ago, and I feel that a lot. I remember the proprietary memory cards being the major issue I had that prevented me from buying one originally, and they’re even more of an issue now that they’re out of production and the ones available are aging.

Thankfully, the homebrew scene provided workarounds to use microSD, but you lose the ability to play cartridges easily, so I haven’t done so myself.

It’s really a great console though. Basically a pocket PS2.5 I’d say. Sometimes closer to a pocket PS3. Plus the ability to play cross platform PS3 games, certain PS2 remasters, and Sonys (then) whole offering of PS1 ports really opens up the library on top of the smattering of quality Native Vita titles it had.

009_Sound_System ,

Dude do remember when the PS4 launched and it had the remote play function? I thought that was so cool. Things like that to me showed me that Sony was really making new leaps for handheld, but just kinda gave up?

tekchic ,

I really loved the Vita. Probably my favorite handheld console of all time.

I just got a 3ds, is great for a unique experience

Bartsbigbugbag OP ,

I have the 2ds XL, and I love it. I’ve always wanted to try the 3D on the New 3ds, but never had a chance. Link Between Worlds is one of my favorite Zelda games.

FlagonOfMe ,

ALBW is so good! Really fun in 3D.

What’s that console on the bottom of the photo that looks like a 3DS, but isn’t?

Retroid Pocket Flip, it seems.

Bartsbigbugbag OP ,

That’s the Retroid Pocket Flip. It’s an Android emulation device. Can handle most things ps1 and older, and a good bit of GameCube and ps2 libraries also.

Brilliant move to help sell more ads on the platform: limit how many people will even be able to see those ads

toaster ,

I think the real money now is selling data for AI training. At least that’s the vibe I’m getting now from all these social media sites limiting API shit. We live in weird times.

substill ,

It’s weird. Social media seems to have gone from selling users’ eyeballs as ad revenue to selling users’ voices for automated content creation.

Hiccup ,

They should’ve tried selling ads to the AI.

givesomefucks ,

It’s not so much that there’s money in it.

Just that some of those AI companies are making a lot of money, and social media wants that money.

But those AI companies are going to try and find a new free way rather than giving up millions of dollars they didn’t have to before.

I really like both Keiko and Molly. Honestly I prefer many of the Keiko/Molly/O’Brien episodes to the standard “O’Brien must suffer”.

Yoz , to mildlyinfuriating in The price of a cinema ticket in this day and age. No wonder people aren't going to the cinema anymore.

I bought a 65" TV for $300 and good speakers. Never been to a cinema after that

ItsaB3AR ,

I got a $600 projector and have about 90 inch display ( can hit 120 if my apartment was bigger). No need to go to a cinema, overpay for drinks and snacks, and I can pause and pee whenever I want.

I have a very good setup at home but we still like going to the cinema once in a while, it’s more of an event and we don’t spend the movie with our nose in our phones.

We do select movies where it’s worth it, big action, etc. Last one was the new avatar in “4D” where they splash you with sprays, the seats move and you feel the wind, pretty cool.

christophski ,

Maybe you should have a no phones rule when you watch a movie at home? Seems like a good idea otherwise what’s the point of watching
